Looks like a blast!

I like your black sandals in #1 and #5 - where did you get those? Thanks so much.

Amazing trip! Janet, you look gorgeous and at ease in the heat and your casual gear. I a, happy to see that you still wear your signature rings ( how cool that you found a new keepsake!) and your other jewelry. I look forward to updates!

Wow! Looks amazing!

Wow, Janet -- beautiful photos and what an adventure you are on! Just gorgeous. I love the jewellery, scarf, and sandals, too. Enjoy this blissful holiday!

Such fun - love the pics. Too late to order one of those scarves? You look fab anywhere in the world!

I'm so happy for you, Janet! Agree with the idea that travel changes a person.

Love the peek. Thanks for sharing your trip with us.

Jules, honestly a safari in Africa wasn’t even in my top five bucket list items, but the opportunity came up and we decided to jump on it, and we loved it way more than we expected to. I wholeheartedly recommend it! Anyone who wants info on the trip we took and the lodging, etc, please just PM me and I’ll share our details.

This trip was initiated as a benefit for an organization called Dazzle Africa — we raised funds for anti-poaching efforts, and community development in the town of Mfuwe, near South Luangwa National Park, where we spent 10 days. I highly recommend a trip with this organization if you ever decide to visit this area — this region is pretty much the gold standard for seeing amazing wildlife, and it was actually a very good deal traveling with DA as I believe they get good rates with the Lodge and bush camps. I can’t say enough positive things about the guides and locals who made our experience so meaningful, and some of whom we now count among our friends.

Jeanne, if I spot another one of these scarves, I will pick one up for you! We are in a different town now, but sometimes the shops carry similar items.

Janet - so good to see you! I am so interested in the life-changing comment and look forward to hearing more.
I love how you and Jamie travel.
Glad you got those sandals!

Laura, the black sandals are by Arche. I need to do a Find for them when I can. They are SO comfortable — great travel shoes

Thanks Janet! Looks like a good company.

Looks like you are having a great time. Enjoy!

I am filled with awe. What a magical experience.

Looks like absolutely wonderful trip A safari has been on my bucket list for a long time, and love that beautiful lion! More pics!

I've been on safari a few times. Well. I lived in Africa for 17 years

YOU MUST ALL GO AND SEE THE CONTINENT. Speak to me before you plan your trip! It's life changing.

Looking forward to the full trip recap. I turn 45 in January and I think I will start putting aside money here and there for a 50th birthday trip. It’s farfetched as we have many other goals, dreams and necessary expenses on the horizon, but maybe just maybe...

I second Angie. Africa is wonderful and magical, at least the parts I saw (Botswana and a bit of Zambia around Victoria Falls). The continent is vast though, and I saw a tiny sliver, so I look forward to further adventures someday.

Janet, you look like you're having a great time. Having been on safari, I know that you look VERY stylish, all things considered. Enjoy the rest of your trip!

Did you manage to resist the urge to constantly imitate Sir David Attenborough's narration voice ?

Wonderful pictures! Thank you for sharing. How amazing is it to see the animals in the wild?!!

I love those sandals..

A stunning lady on a stunning trip! Enjoy it Janet!!

Wow, what an incredible trip! Thank you for sharing the pics. You look amazing and like you're having fun.

Cee, LOL. One of our traveling companions is British and provided some of that. But now we also can’t help but identify animals we see using the accents of our Zambian tour guides. Somehow they made “white-tailed mongoose” and “carmine bee-eater” sounds so much more exotic than they do when spoken in American-accented English!
