Hello everyone, I am new to this forum. My question is- can a 55 year old wear a pinafore dress in denim? Or it is only for young people?
Thanks in advance
Sunflower, I think so. You might want to look at my recent post about a non-denim pinny. Most people seemed to have no problem with it, and there are a lot of good styling suggestions (including website links) for it.
Hi Sunflowergirl and Welcome from me. Everyone must wear what makes them happy and feel good. I used to love denim pinafores but personally I would not wear one now at 54 years as I think a teenager will pull it off far better. I do have two denim dress, just not pinnies. I may wear one that is not denim, not sure, but the combination doesn't feel right for ME.
Sunflower - to put this in context - I am a woman who wears Hello Kitty t-shirts - so perhaps not really the best person to answer this. My view is most definitely you can wear it, but not styled how you wore it in you teens. When wearing items that may read too young - I am more careful in my styling and the rules that I apply for me are: 1. Don't show too much skin, wear it in a modest way; and 2. Balance out the fun younger piece with items that show a certain sophistication.
@ Bijoux, ha-ha, I do own and wear sometimes Hello Kitty T-shirts too. I have noticed I usually get admiring glances from 5 year olds :). The rules you apply are spot on.
Yes! And... come to think, I also have a Hello Kitty tee... or more correctly, a Hella Kitty tee.
Must confess I can’t think how a teen and adult would wear one differently... except in terms of hair. If the adult has long hair, I think she perhaps ought to wear it up... I have an 1800s mindset about hair, lol
