This purple trench is on the front display in its store this week. It is a *fantastic* colour, with a striped lining. I would love to buy it! But it might not be a very sensible decision and I would love to know what you think.
Mind you, I haven't even tried it on yet.

For: that colour! I think it's 'my' purple . Looks lightweight enough to travel with, and should be shower proof. It's not black. The website does not do it justice on my screen. Not very expensive. FOMO, I don't often find my size on the sale rack.

Against: I live in the tropics. Outerwear is not required here. Can I justify this for my 'conference in Melbourne ' capsule? For once or twice a year? Would it look outdated next year, or the next? I would need to build a travel capsule around it, am I making life too hard for myself? Would something else be better value for money? Is it a Trying Too Hard to be stylish coat?

I find cool-climate dressing quite hard, on the few occasions that I travel. I always end up too warm as I struggle with layers for outside and shedding them inside.
If I'm lucky I'll get to the shops and try it on tomorrow.
