A purchase and a maybe?

I did some browsing last night on a second hand resale site. I clicked yes on the snakeskin boots - a brand I like and they are a fun dressy option for me.

Pondering these green Alamais silk pants - very appealing - I have worn my satin palazzo pants 23 times in less than two years so I think it’s a style that works for me. These are bolder in colour so potentially a bit trickier for tops than my existing ones which work so well with black?

Shall I say yes?

The boots look fun indeed.

As for the pants, I do think they might be harder to style -- the vertical stripes and the black cuff make these easy to work with your current tops and toppers, as you say. However, the green pants are a really fresh wild card. I expect you would wear them more in spring and (maybe) summer (if they are not too hot for that?). They definitely have a 70s glam integrity that works for your style and with the larger scale floral pattern remind me in mood/ tone of your new summer dress.

What are the return policies like? Can you try things out at home?

Suz - the boots will work for my dressier work days and for nights out (the heel would allow me to walk to dinner or movies etc which are 1-1.5 km or so from my house)

I agree the pants are more spring and summer - I would either wear with a tonal green top (that I don't have), a white top (I have a couple), or potentially pink or grey or coral (I can't quite see the colours - and I don't think I have anything ideal). I would wear with a black top and black shoes as well but I don't think they would be as good.

Will check the return policies - I haven't purchased through Designer Wardrobe previously but it is a growing specialist clothing resale site - previously I have had mostly good success with TradeMe (our version of EBay). The pants are the larger of my two sizes which is good as I could alter.

The price is not low - but good for the brand.

I do think they are me - they have that 70s boho glam look that I like for evening wear but they could be worn with a white tee and slides as well.

You will rock those palazzo pants. Yes, to the glam boho vibe for you, and you know the style works. They are so different from your current pair, which I see as a good thing. I immediately thought of your green crossbody bag, but looking in your Finds, I'm thinking maybe it won't be the right color (and you would probably want a different strap). But what about the mustard mules? They seem made for those pants. If you don't have a coral pink top, I think you might need one. But ivory or white will be beautiful. A jean jacket will work with them when you need a topper.

Yayyy! I'd try wearing the silk trousers with lighter colours - I suspect they'd look sublime on you with lavender, light grey & cognac. Plus the coral, pale blue, mustard & white already in the pattern.

(Not all at once - unless you want to lol!)

I love the boots and the color of the pants so much-it would be a great accent color for summers and I would pai them with whites -my only hesitation would be the fabric. To be honest it really surprised me you wore your old satin pants so often (but these are also neutral palette-and perhaps easier to style). Do they not wrinkle at all or feel too hot all together in the big heat? These can surely be incorporated in weekday outfits, too but I always thought about satin (esp pants) to be more on the dressier side and a bit too fussy with the wrinkles....

Thanks Lyn - I don’t find the wrinkles too bad - but I am a bit casual about wrinkles (face and clothes haha)
