A New Way to Support YLF

In case you missed it on the blog, we were excited to announce today that we're removing banner ads for logged in members. We've also added a way to support YLF financially if you would like to do so. You can become a YLF Patron by signing up to contribute $8 per month. Note that your access to YLF will stay the same should you choose not to become a patron.

I am more than happy to support YLF in this way. And I appreciate how regular monthly support, a revenue stream you can count on, makes going ad-free, a possibility. I'm not sure what costs the ad revenue is replacing. I am guessing here ... perhaps hosting expenses? Are we getting close with the contributions made so far today, or are we woefully short?

I have imagined, for some time, that Angie's clients are indirectly funding the existence of YLF. As are, perhaps, non-YLF clients of Greg's. It's good to level things with this patron model.

YLF has been a life-changing place for me. I am very happy to help, it makes me feel even more involved with this community.

Angie and Greg,
Count my support in. This is a good time to remind us about how we can also help by always remembering to click through YLF for our purchases, even when not directly reading the blog. It costs us nothing except a couple of extra clicks, and it is an excellent way to support YLF and show our gratitude. Buying jeans at Gap for the boys? 3 extra clicks through YLF!

What the others have said. I am happy to contribute. I don't make purchases online for various reasons so this is a great way to contribute to YLF. This is such a great community for so many reasons and Angie, Greg and Inge have worked hard to make it happen.

I understand it's a big step, I hope it will work out.

YLF is much more than an advertising tool for your styling activity (that's how I qualify the other stylists' sites I've seen out there).
It gives useful info and advice, like a coaching or teaching site, even personalized info and advice, since you take the time everyday to answer blog comments and forum posts.

It's a lot of work, obviously, and it's valuable work to me, so it feels right to contribute.
