Well we are back!!!
Thanks for all the lovely encouraging comments. Lyn D, I wish I had read your post before I left because they were great suggestions.
It was interesting. DD was by no means an impulsive buyer and comsidered things very carefully. She was a bit bowled over by how much things cost, not having had to consider this before. She ended up with a black open weave jumper (sweater) and some canvas slip ons from Target, and some heavily discounted ugg boot esque boots. These purchases set her back $30 and she has more than that left (My mum gave her some money too)
I was hoping she'd buy a warm jacket and some boots but the whole point is that it was her choice. She wore her colourful rain boots the whole day (almost the only thing I had bought her this winter prior to the birthday) and reckons they will do for boots as she found them quite comfortable.
We went to a foodhall for lunch (her choice) where she had 3 spring rolls. She is very keen on " the city" now ( we live in a regional city that is fairly small - really just a large country town) and excited that her day included trains, buses,, and escalators!
It was very tiring for both of us, and I am glad we called it a day soon after lunch. We will probably head out to a suburban mall later in our stay, as I need to grab a few things for the other girls, and I will be taking up Lyn's suggestions too.
Last thought. - July really is too late to go winter shopping!!
