I need a new haircut, too. I've more or less had the same style - long, a few layers around the face - my whole life (except for a miserable cut I got in Europe where I asked for a short bob and was told, as the hair dresser began cutting, that my face was "too fat" for the style I'd requested and that she was taking my hair in another direction altogether: took literally years to grow out the Mrs. Partridge mullet-shag and traumatized me for life!)
I'm too shy to post a photo of myself now but i have long, relatively straight hair and a rectangular, chunky face. I'm thinking of going for a cut that's still long but about collar-bone length in the front and an inch or two shorter in the back. I hope it will look neat and sleek - especially when I straight-iron it - but a bit more elegant and sleek for a woman of my age (just turned 40!) than my current hairstyle.
I don't look like Gwyneth - at all - but this was the general sort of cut I was considering. What do you think?
