Humor and misery, all wrapped up in one:

Last Saturday I got the dreaded call from the ever-vigilant folks at Nordstrom Bank: my card had some suspicious charges. (No, it wasn't that my card was self-destructing from all the NAS purchases.) There were in fact a couple of charges on the account that I did not make. So the bank cancelled my card, and said they would expedite another one to me, since it is the only credit card I have.

Sunday (July 26), I thought the sale was ending. I used a Nordstrom gift card to make one last purchase from the sale (the Zella capris that are so cute on Alaskagirl, Dashielle, and no doubt countless others here on YLF). Then on Monday, I realized the sale was still going on! I had the wrong week! I still had time to do some coat-exchanging, if I wanted to.

No worries, my card was supposed to arrive on Tuesday. I wait. Patiently. I check the mail on Tuesday, and no card. I call Nordstrom Bank. Oh, we meant two business days from Monday, they said, so the card will arrive tomorrow.

Wednesday (that's today), I check the mail. No card. I call Nordstrom Bank. The customer service rep tells me there is nothing in my file about an expedited card, but it was sent out today (!) and should arrive in 7 to 10 business days. What?! After two employees assured me it was being expedited? A supervisor confirmed: yes, there was no expediting, even though two employees assured me there was. But now they could really send out a card to arrive in two business days. We'll see, won't we?

It would take a lot to make a Macy's customer out of me, but that Nordstrom Bank is working on it. Joking aside, I hope I do get my card soon. It's hard to operate without a credit card, especially at the tail end of NAS.

Oh, and I received the Zella capris today. I didn't love them on me, so they are going back. I'm glad I tried them, anyway!
