A little reward

I confess, clothes shopping is not fun at all for me. Picky taste plus some body issues make it a frustrating tiresome business. But recently I was feeling the need of something new to lift my spirit ... On December 31st I was at the mall and suddenly decided to reward myself with something that was not clothes. In a heartbeat I bought :

a glittered nail enamel

a new perfume, Flower by Kenzo (smelled it and loved it immediately)

a super sparkly diamond bracelet (costume jewelry of course!).

These few small purchases were enough to make me feel better. At last, some satisfaction! It came to my mind that I actually need a certain number of new things, such as cosmetics, underwear and even houseware ... I hope I will be able to buy something that will finally give me some excitement. Boy, do I need it!

Sisi: Happy New Year! That's so fun you found a few purchases to make you happy~They all sound yummy~ That's such a joy in life, it doesn't have to be expensive things, just things that make us smile! And what a better way to bring in the new year than with a new perfume!

I often feel similar about clothes shopping for the same reasons. The day I found out a new lipstick could perk up my look was a very happy day.

Great sisi! A nice scent and some pretty jewelry are all you need sometimes. I feel the same way (but mostly about scarves :-))

I understand you, I love to buy new nail polish, perfume or lipstic. At the right moment, it can give that much needed moment of joy. To feel elegant and polished is wonderful. I am glad for you!

Love those little rewards too... even a shower gel or body lotion with a special scent are enough to perk me up and feel like a treat. Or, recently, facial sheet masks

Thank you all for your comments. I arrived at the end of 2017 exhausted and disenheartened (for resons it would be too long to explain) and yes, I think it's time I pamper myself a bit. Wishing you all a wonderful New Year! xxx

I recently pulled out an old nail polish that I hadn't worn in a long time--a gold metallic. I painted my nails for New Year's Eve, and I am surprised at how happy I feel seeing the gold on my fingers!

I am very sensitive to color, so sometimes something small, like a new nail polish or a new lipstick, in the right color can do wonders to cheer me up.
