In response to the blog post today, blend in or stand out, I think I really want a little of both. I want to look creative, interesting and up to date, but not totally kooky. I want to be appropriate for the setting but not boring, comfortable but not too undressed-casual, and modern but fit in with anyone. In my estimation, I’ve been doing okay with this, considering my activities, environment and social groups.

Here are some recent combos.
1. What I wore today for painting group and errands, and very similar to most days, wide leg jeans (Old Navy), cotton button shirt (JCPenney), cardigan (probably TJMaxx, rather old), Converse canvas tennis shoes.
2. Black ribbed turtleneck, tweedy cardigan (Target, a couple years old), and jeans, bright copper necklace, gift from daughter a few years ago and I finally got some copper earrings to go with it.
3. Burgundy corduroy jeans (these are going to holding as they are warm comfortable and fit fine but I don’t like the slim cut or the color for pants), navy pullover with gold and burgundy striped belled sleeves (old), rust and burgundy plaid flannel shirt (Sierra, don’t know brand), tan leather high top Converse. Necklace is made with a satin cord and three little stone charms I got at the Denver Science and Natural History Museum when I picked out some for my grandsons. Mine are a sun, a leaf and a bird. A nice warm outfit, but the pants bothered me.
4. Cotton peacock print shirt (I made), peacock print scarf (very old), green wool cardigan (TJMaxx, old), wide leg jeans (Lands End), navy and green mottled high top Converse. Standing by my tree painting at one of my paint groups this month.

This morning I put three pair of boyfriend jeans which fit well but are cropped or rolled away with summer clothes. They were in the way and should’ve been moved in October. Three button shirts and three long sleeve tees went into holding along with the burgundy jeans. Realistically there are still too many shirts in the closet but I like and wear them all, ugh. I guess not ugh. I should say yay that I like my clothes.
