Dear Footwear Makers: Leather and smooth soled shoes may be practical in some offices and in some areas. Some people may not have smooth wood floors that make these shoes equivalent to ice skating every time one goes to the bathroom or to a meeting. That person, however, is not me. So while I am not purging all of these shoes just yet, I refuse to buy another pair of smooth bottomed shoes when there are plenty of shoe makers at all price points that can and do make shoes that don't double as ice skates.
