A little help svp, which handbag?

I am looking for a neutral clutch bag to accompany the shoes pictured below but I keep stopping myself from pulling the trigger because I know I have a tendency to be a little too matchy matchy with my shoes and bags. Option one (tan) and two (chocolate) are both leather, vintage and reasonable priced but are they dull? Should I keep looking?

I am specifically looking for a neutral bag because my clothing is often in muted colours, mid toned brights or has some pattern.

They are both very nice but I think I like the tan one better.

I like the tan one better, too, mostly because it feels more in keeping with the casual feeling of the shoes. The chocolate one is gorgeous, but feels more "buttoned up" and wintery to me.

Wow, that's a hard decision. I like both of them for different reasons. I think the first one is a great, smart casual MOTG type clutch. It seems more casual to me from what I can see in the photos. The second one is polished and really interesting without being flashy. I'd say it's maybe a little more "modern classic" than the first bag. Can you get both? ; )

I guess I'd personally choose the second bag, but it's definitely because I tend to like very polished accessories, so that's completely based on my personal preference. : )

I like the dark one! The tone on tone and richer brown trim is great and it elevates the shoes without looking too fancy. It doesn't "match" any of the shoes but it goes, where the tan "matches"--- I also don't like how you can see the backside of the snaps on the tan one through the leather.

First of all, you have such cute peep-toe shoes (love that one with the fabric tie) and then I'm taken with your beaded midriff top in photo 2 with the distressed jeans. But, I digress, and, at first, I agreed with, San, and preferred the tan clutch over the brown, yet when I look at your shoes, I wonder if the "shade" of the lighter clutch is off a bit. Your shoes seem to have more "brown" than "rosy tan," at least from the way I'm seeing them here on my computer. I do like the styling of the brown bag and for some reason think it's a bit dressier or polished compared to the more casual tan clutch, which seems more "saddlebag-ish" in a rustic way. I'm not helping here as I process this. Does one really jump out at you? You have such style, I know you can't go wrong, and I trust your instincts.

The dark brown one - the tan one is nice too but will show dirt so much easier, especially oils from the hands and such.

I think the tan will bookend your shoes better, if that's what you're after. But they are both lovely!

Both are lovely, but I like the dark one for you, because it will contrast a bit. If you don't think it's too winter-y, that's my pick.

I prefer the dark one. I think I would like it more with your hair and coloring, if that makes any sense, and it seems like it would work well with your high level of super-chicness :).

Can you get both? The tan is casual and great for spring/summer. The dark one is more polished for evening events.

I prefer the darker one. The leather is beautifully glossy, it makes a statement on its own (and not just as supporting cast), coordinates rather than trying to exactly match the shoes (which really need to be allowed to stand up for themselves too, they're so gorgeous --- I especially love the one on the far right), while the tan would look 'off' I fear if it didn't match exactly, plus finish and show-through snaps aren't convincing me.

Thank you so much for your honest feedback. I read your comments this morning, but as is often the case with vintage (one off) pieces, it was gone. I heeded your advice about the tan and the snaps and eventually settled on this large purse to fill the accessory hole. When carrying a clutch I only take cash, front door key and mobile so the size should be okay. Thank you so much for helping me to bite the bullet, hopefully the results wont be too matchy matchy.
