I am always loathe to announce SYC, because invariably the itch to buy begins the minute one does!
But I am up to about August with my shopping plan for the year and I have lots of warm weather items from last year in FL. Also, I am now working 2 jobs and have limited off time to wear said items.
So . . . . . [deep breath] I am taking a shopping break. All I have left for the season is a red top and a geo necklace. If those come about, I will snap them up, but giving up on active searching. (the geo necklace in particular is proving difficult. I tried one from Nordies and it was bigger than my whole hand! crazy)
I hope to instead concentrate on fitness, and tweaking my beauty routine a bit. Searching for the right pink lip shade for summer and growing in my brows, specifically lol.

CAVEAT: if I need to buy work uniform related items, I will do so as needed. I already converted unworn capris into uniform shorts I can wear for just a $10 alteration - yay!

T-Rex, it was my attempt at 12 for 12, which is working out to be 24 for 12 as I progress lol.
I will admit factoring the return costs and alteration fees is eye opening. The yellow bars are what I have not yet bought. I'm a little ahead of schedule . . . ahem.

EDIT: it was some template from Microsoft Works and I just tweaked a column or two. Let me see if I can recall what it was.

I may have to forgo the cost per wear at first. I really need to figure out how much I wear what I currently have, and I doubt I can remember the prices for most of it. The next time I buy something new (or new to me) though, I'm going to keep up with the cost per wear.

Now I'm going to go look up that 12 for 12 post you mentioned.

I fugde the CPW. I mark a tally for every $20 increment it costs and just delete one each time I wear it. So my DVF dress was 7 tally marks, now down to 5. This is my 'at least get it below $20 cpw benchmark' for starters. I expect most things to get down a lot less, like $3 or $5 for most items.

Good for you. I wish I was as organized as you. I'm sure you will find the right shade of pink lippy. There are a lot out there, though i didnt buy one I loved & it is now discontinued.

Well done Mo! I haven't limited myself yet but I am usually restrained enough to manage a reasonable budget. Those return costs can add up though as you said.

For your pink lip shade - I found Burts Bees to have some newer lip glosses that are pretty good and reasonable and not overly full of chemicals (we DO eat our lipstick after all). I can't remember the pinky shade I bought - let me go look - okay it's "Spring Splendor". It's a translucent pink shade so if you're looking for more full coverage, this isn't it. But if you like a light, not too shiny or sticky gloss, I'd recommend giving it a try. A company called "Alba" also makes some great glosses that I've used for years and feel safe to get in my mouth as well as on my lips. lol.
