A kindness mission

I don't know this man directly, but he is in a relationship with a sweet, lovely woman I am acquainted with, and now CNN has gotten hold of his story. His evolution and message have me thinking.

Thanks for sharing this, I really enjoyed the article. I think kindness makes a huge difference in one's day -- both giving and receiving it.

I'm not given to admiring yippies who do Bofu Botswana - i.e., take off for a couple of years doing good works, thinking they've learned something and done anything but get their picture taken - BUT I have to say I approve of Votruba. For the stickers on his bike:

"Be a man. Don't raise a hand. Stop domestic violence."
"Stop
childhood sexual abuse now."
"Boys should never hit girls."

I have noticed, when and where I've been, boys are going overlooked. Or worse vilified. For girls, you get messages like "you can be anything, do anything." But no one ever seems to have any good advice for boys. No one stops to admire the real Real Man. I've a friend whose son is now in college and with a girlfriend. I was sort of, not surprised, but still astonished she'd never discussed with him what he needs to do to be marriage material...
