I’m in Beijing for a week being a tourist. I was able to book a tour that included camping on The Great Wall
#1-2 Sunset
#3-4 pre-dawn
#6-7 Sunrise
#8 me, after hiking 7 km on wall in probably close to 30c heat. I actually wanted this pic as proof I really did it
#9 the Chinese alcohol I drank to keep warm on the wall, basically fire water. I did have a sleeping bag & tent, it wasn’t too cold
I was slow, but I felt better about myself when there was a guy over 1/2 my age going the other direction & complaining that he was done, because of the stairs. My guide said I only complained about the heat.
He said I should get back into hiking shape & come back for a multi day hiking tour
