A few Spring weddings

I posted this on Rae's thread a few days ago and want to see what the collective group thinks. Rae had some great ideas. I have to go to two weddings this spring and I really want to wear this skirt because I love it. It is a Tadashi taffeta I purchased about four years ago and I do not have an appropriate top. I tried a sweater in #1 and a silky T tucked in #2 & 3. I think I am more comfortable with an untucked top. I am open for any and all suggestions.

Do you own any sculpted tops? I found one on sale a few months back and it's been a life saver for me, but I'm not much for the volume-on-volume look on myself. That top is one of the few that I don't mind tucking in because it just hangs out where it's suppose to. Depending on how high the skirt comes up, could you wear a more boxy top?

Hmm, I'm wondering if some of the guidelines Angie helped me come up with for my bubble skirt might work for your skirt as well. (Although yours is not quite SO voluminous as mine.)

So, basically it was:

either go for boxy and voluminous, but cropped (so still some waist definition)

or:

sleek, fitted, tucked top (or in your case, something short enough to not reach the flared part of the skirt), possibly with a jacket (again, not too long) over.

I love, love the skirt. I want one too.

I prefer #2 of this batch. The cardi looks too casual for a wedding, but it's a great dressed down version for more relaxed settings.

How about a dressier top and pair of shoes, Deb?

Angie, that is what I am looking for. I have not seen anything I like so far. I was hoping I would find something with the holiday and new year tops but nothing.

Beautiful skirt, Deb. The traditional, non edgy me sees it with a white silk wrap blouse. Or cobalt since that is your color!

I like Diana's idea of a cropped jacket. Maybe Something tailored and fitted. The skirt looks really fun and the blue cardigan is a great color for you.

I agree that 2 looks better since its shorter - I think you definitely need something cropped to balance out the fullness of the skirt.
