a few potential specs options from Rivet and Sway ETA: More pics of #3

So a while ago Angie mentioned Rivet and Sway, a new online prescription glasses business. I received an early invitation to try them out and ordered three frames for free home try-on. I love that they allow you to order three pairs to try on at home for free (Warby parker, where I got my current frames, is the only other company I know who does this.) They arrived very quickly and the website was very easy to use in my opinion. I also liked that they gave detailed measurements for each pair including the total width across the face, so I was able to eliminate many pairs that were too narrow for me.

Here are the three frames I tried. Do you think any of them are keepers? Sorry for the bad picture quality - it was dark and I took these in the mirror! The color is clearly quite off.

1. Six Shooter in blue metal - these are teal glasses so I had to try them. The frames are metal and I have not worn metal frames in years - they feel a little tight and I am afraid they will not be super comfortable but perhaps I am not used to them. I think they also look a little too small.

2. Ruby Red in Heartthrob (like a dark tortoise color) - these look really similar to my existing Warby parker glasses.

3 Spitfire in black crystal - I love cat eye glasses although my first choice cat eye from Rivet and Sway was far too narrow so I didn't bother to order them to try. These are quite statement-y in my opinion, maybe a little too tall and narrow for my face. If rivet and sway offered Rx sunglasses I'd be very tempted.

4. my current Warby Parker frames.

ETA: Added a couple more pics of #3 so you can see my eyes open and with hair down. They're not crooked even though it might look slightly like that in some of the pics - my face is very asymmetrical and all specs have a tendency to look slightly askew on me.

I'm not sure any of these are wonderful on you. I think #1 and #2 are quite similar to what you already have. I like the cats eye shape of #3 and I agree that the lens area is too tall for you. I don't think they are too wide though. Do they have any other options in the cats eye shape? It's very flattering on you.

Missvee, my favorite pair from the site is actually a different cat eye pair, but unfortunately the measurements indicate it will be too narrow for me. The curse of the giant head strikes again! Picture attached below.

Angie, I can't wait to hear what you have to say! And the models on the site look great! I really liked the 3-D aspect too where you could see them from all angles. Do you have any suggestions for other frames from the site that I might have overlooked? (Keeping in mind that none of the narrow width frames will work).

I like #1 - just a slight curve seems to raise the eye. I'm looking for new specs soon so will be checking out this site!

The frames on R&S do run on the narrow side. I'm glad that you found amazing options already though. Thanks for the styling compliment.

May I suggest the Je Ne Sais Quoi in blue - if you are looking to try more pairs.

Can we see 3 with your eyes open? I think the width and shape is best on you, but I'd love to see your eyes in the frame.

I can't wear narrow specs either- I have wide, high temples- so I feel your pain! But you did incredibly well.

I like #3 best by far. K-word worthy.

I know the colour of #1 (metallic teal) and the photo does not do them justice. These are my second choice here. Fantastic shape on you

Oh, yay, I'm glad #3 is the favorite since it's mine too! I have to head out to dinner soon but will try to get better pictures later today or tomorrow.

Kari, I think after I signed into the site they sent me an email with a 50% off promo code for my first pair, which makes it only $99 for frames + lenses. Very affordable! I really liked that they offer high index lenses for strong prescriptions for free too - usually that is an additional charge at most other places. You should totally check them out - I can see several of their options working for you.

Angie, I loved the color and shape of the teal ones, but I felt the shiny metallic was a little too much on my face and the arms felt slightly tight. I haven't worn metal glasses in ages so maybe i am just used to the look and feel of plastic these days.

I've added more photos of option #3 (the cat eyes) up at the top so you can see them in better light and with my eyes actually open. They're definitely a good width with my hair down.

Oooh, yes! That's the one! Are you going to try the other blue Angie mentioned too? Or are you good for now? (I love the head tilt and mysterious smile in #7 --- you look lovely.)

I've really enjoyed my Rivet and Sway experience so far, and I'll definitely update this thread when I get my finished specs to let you know how the rest of the process goes.

Very cool! I'm only just seeing this now, but what a great concept, and the frames look nice.

Angie, you say their frames run narrow? That's actually music to my ears. I have the opposite problem of what Kari and Diana mention -- I have a very small head. When I go shopping for glasses, it's always a shock to the sales associate how narrow we need to go on frames so they don't jut out on the sides of my face.
