Seriously, not in the slightest missing the stirrup pants, denim jumpers, Laura Ashley, etc. *SHUDDER* What do those people wear now?!?
I'm perfectly willing to let my style shift and evolve, but those items seem so incredibly dated (other than maybe denim jumpers, and that's a grudging maybe) that I can't imagine longing for them currently. It would be like longing for acid washed jeans in a full mommy-jean cut. With pleats. That wasn't flattering then, it isn't now, and it won't be in the future. I know. I just put on a pair of jeans that I'd kept (my non-acid-washed super skinny jeans) from the late 80s just to see if I could fit them. They fit, but I'm still trying to recover from how hideous they looked. Tight on the waist, super high rise therefore dumpy in the rear, ballooning over the thighs and so tight at the ankles that I could barely get my feet through them. That was flattering? And 501s? Def. not. my. jean.
Maybe I just find current fashion exciting enough that I don't worry too much about past fashion? I miss skinny cuts and pointy toes a bit when they are out of style, more so than I miss rounded toes with clunky soles or square toes, but I don't pine for them.
Fashion is a crazy thing, isn't it?
