Cool or OTT? I already own boots that are similar but without the cutout part.

ETA: As an aside, Urban Outfitters has some really cool shoes! Which kind of surprises me, because the one near me here pretty much seems to only carry cheap, plastic shoes with gigantic heels.

I like the idea a lot! These particular ones seem "toe heavy" somehow, though, because of the bare ankle and cap toe. I'd like to see a version with more cut out, leaving just a combat boot skeleton!

Mmm, good point, Rae. My other combat boots (the ones I call the "victorian combat boots") have an almond toe, which is one reason why I love them so much. I think that would work better than the big heavy toe.

I am annoyed b/c I cannot find a picture of these on a foot. It's really hard to tell what the cutouts will look like with an actual foot in them.

I think I might love them.

It kind of depends how they fit, if they are a close-fitting bootie, then probably they won't look toe-heavy. If they are more bulky/traditional in dimensions they might.

I think I'm going to go ahead and order them. Why not? Free shipping and I can return to the store that is 10 minutes walk away from me.

Emily, I'd wear them with skirts/dresses, and maybe also with rolled jeans.

Be sure to sunscreen your lower legs under the boots unless you want *interesting* tan lines!

Yeah I got my SE Pettys from Urban Outfitters.com. I think they carry crap in the stores and save the good stuff for online. These cutouts look like your style -- I'd love to see what you do with them. I'm thinking about the floral moto you wore earlier this week (I think?) -- they'd go great with that.
