Hi everyone! I haven't been around much because May and June are when I head to the field to do research (archaeology). I've been in gear or extremely casual clothes almost every day. I think most of us like a good travel capsule post, so I thought I'd share what I packed for an 11-day research trip. We camped but did have a few nights in a hotel so I had a chance to do laundry.

Pants: 3 pairs (2 synthetic, 1 denim)

Tops: 5 (4 synthetic, 1 cotton)

Toppers: 3 (synthetic long-sleeve shirt, fleece, rain jacket)

Shoes: 2 (boots, flip flops)

Accessories: 4 (straw hat, beanie, bandanna, sunglasses)

Gear/Supplies: Hydration day pack, sleeping bag, pad, pillow, bowl, spoon, mug, water bottle, flashlight

Not pictured: Tent, misc. camping gear, 2 polished casual outfits for lectures and cultural events

This capsule was perfect for my needs but I am really ready to wear some real clothes and makeup. Hope you enjoyed my version of "business casual."

Do you have any specific items that are must-haves for outdoor activities? I absolutely need shirts that work well when I bend over. This means no exposure of the bra/chest and enough length so they don't expose a few inches of skin on my back. They are hard to find so I always buy multiples!

Bonus pictures from the field!
