A couple NAS picks (plus size)

Hi! I haven't posted much, but I wanted to join in on the NAS fun. This is my first time shopping it early, as I got a Nordstrom debit card recently (what a great idea!)

I have a lot more on my list to sort through, but these were the first things that appealed to me. I had my eye on the Eileen Fisher leather-sleeved jacket since I saw it in the lookbook. I was thinking about the grey color, but I think the "peat" is a more flattering color for me. I am a size 14-16 on top/16-18 on bottom. I usually wear EF in a 1x or XL, but a L fit just fine in this.

I had wanted to check out the marled-looking EF drape front cardigan, but didn't love the material in person.

The other piece I liked was this Sejour bomber with faux leather accents. It's lightweight enough that I could wear it during the day at work. I work retail and am always scrunching or rolling my sleeves up, so this fits the bill (dress code is white/black/denim). This fit in a 14, so I'd say true-to-size.

FYI - I'm wearing the NAS NYDJ straight legs in a 16. Not amazing, but I've lost weight recently and the jeans I had on were too baggy to deserve being photographed :)!

My store didn't have a huge plus selection, so I'll be doing some ordering through my SA. I really want to check out the red plaid pullover from the lookbook, try some wide-calf black boots, and add a sweater or two to my fall wardrobe. I live in Texas, so my cold-weather needs aren't great, but being a New Englander, it's my favorite clothing season.

Hi! Just have to say that the EF jacket in peat is outstanding on you!! The colouring is fantastic for your hair & complexion! B&W jacket is nice too. YLF! Thanks for sharing

The body of the EF jacket is wool. I do love the seaming on the back, so it feels a little more structured and flattering. I wanted the grey originally so I could wear it to work, per dress code colors. However, since I wear black tops a lot to work, I could still wear this to work as an outfit and remove it inside. Realistically, I think it would be too warm indoors anyway, so might as well go with what looks nicer! It also comes with an oversized safety pin wrapped in thread to use as a closure, if desired. Very cute. This was definitely my splurge item.

Thank you for the kind comments. I have been dying and cutting my hair myself recently to save time since I've been working so much - I'm just thankful I haven't turned it into a wreck!

That tweed jacket in black/white (or grey?) is a great piece on you, my eyes immediately went to your face in the photo and the fit looks great too.

Rachy - thank you for the sleeve comment. I was also thinking they were a bit long. I will likely get them hemmed. I'm 5'6", but have fairly short legs/arms and long torso. I can often do petite pants, but in this piece, I think the seaming on the back would hit me funny.

These both look terrific. I brought home the EF jacket too. The sleeves are longish even on a size XS! Fortunately I like long sleeves.

I love both jackets on you, too. It's well worth getting the sleeves shortened if you decide to do that, because they are great styles on you. especially like the peat color on you. Great finds! Good luck with your orders, and let us see them when you get them!

Janet, I was excited to see you chose the EF piece. I adore it and would love others to give it a go. I'm happy to see both pieces made Angie's picks, especially the Sejour jacket. It could use some love, as it was great in person, but I completely overlooked it online. It will be a great transitional piece.

(I giggle a bit every time the word "transitional" is used to describe clothing. It makes me think of the Ab Fab quote, "It's been a fabulous year for the transeasonal trouser." )
