a couple more wedding dress options

Sorry for all the posts tonight... I am kind of obsessive. Have spent hours looking at dresses. But this is it for tonight - I need to go to bed!

Here are two more very affordable dress options. They are a little bit more casual than the Tadashi and the Ann Taylor I also liked. (But the wedding will be a garden wedding with outdoor reception, and the venue is a bit rustic, so I don't want a super fancy dress with big train or anything.)

#1: Adrianna Papell tiered chiffon dress. For some reason the petite costs more than the regular, but if it fits better it's worth it. I saw a very similar gown on a different site for twice the price.

#2: An interesting vintagey dress from Ruche. I am 5.5" shorter than the model so it might even be full length on me. Is this too casual/unstructured? Ruche has a bunch of interesting dresses on their site, it's a bit like bhldn (the Anthro wedding site) only a lot more reasonably priced.

Diana I haven't seen your other posts yet but i seek them out. I like #1 for you here. The dress has a lovely shape and would look gorgeous on your figure. #2 lacks shape and while it very pretty and feminine I am questioning how flattering it would be.

I love #1 - I think this silhouette would be lovely on you and it's a little bit Gatsby which I love for a garden wedding. Don't worry about the location too much - it's your one chance so wear what makes you feel good. I wanted a simple sundress for my beach wedding, but ultimately fell in love with a full length fancier dress than intended and was very happy about it. #2 reads a bit prom to me.

It is unanimous (so far). The first dress is pretty and romantic with shape and structure too. I think it is lovely and would be a perfect choice.

I think I like the Tadashi's better. Something tells me that the quality of the fabric will be better than these two.

OK, #2 is out. I think I am going to order #1 to try - it's so inexpensive that I think I should definitely give it a shot. I'm sure Tadashi will be better quality (it's silk, and this is poly) but I think I should try a variety of styles!

#1 is definitely worth trying - very pretty. I do like the first Tadashi you posted (that Angie also liked) better though - hope you try that one too.

#1 is very pretty - and I know that budget is an important part of wedding plans so if it is a good price, and you love it, all the better. I didn't see the other one but will go try to find it.

I love the first one for you too. You look great in empire cuts, and the sleeves are a nice change from all of the strapless wedding dresses out there. I like the second one too, but it think it would look better on a rectangle. You have such a great waist; let's not hide it!

I'm the odd woman out in preferring #2 (I guess in a death match, I will pick spaghetti straps over fluttery cap sleeves!). I think it would be lovely in an outdoor setting, and it has a lot of personality, like you and your style. I think I also like that it looks less "traditional wedding." Love the Tadashi ones you've linked to previously.

I've not seen the Tadashi link yet but love #1. It's feminine and soft but still has some structure and worth a try.

I really like #1 and think it would look very beautiful on you.

While I like the idea of #2, I'm not sure it would work on your curvy shape (and I mean curvy as in C U R V Y aka 'with curves', not as in 'fat') because of the shapeless style AND the spagettis straps. While you might not have the boobs of Kim Kardashian, you stil have a prominent bossom (that is, you don't have the body of Keira Knightley, Emma Watson or Kate Moss) and I think it wouldn't work well with the thin straps. Personally, I find that spaghetti straps only work on the daintiest, slimmest, small boned bodies.

Irene, I agree about the spaghetti straps. Apparently tailors can add little cap sleeves or flutter sleeves to strapless and spaghetti strap dresses, which is what I would do in this case. But I think I should not start down that road until I've tried some dresses that actually come with shoulders or sleeves!

In any case, I've heard back from customer service that the length measurement (50.5") includes the straps, which will make it a really awkward neither here nor there length on me, so it's definitely out.

I'm going to order the first dress in a petite size. It's so inexpensive I have to try it. (Plus Macy's has free shipping and in store returns, so it doesn't cost me anything to try it.)

PS - am also waiting to hear back from CS about measurements on the Tadashi.
