A camouflage jacket?

Dear Fabbers,
I have ordered this camo jacket. It looks great in the pictures and it has some leather details, which I like. It has not arrived yet, but i am quite excited about trying it.
I have never had a camo jacket before and as you know, my style is quite dressy and dramatic. The idea is to style it with dressy trousers in black, cream/white, navy or red and some structured handbag - maybe with chain details - and to dress it up with a solid silk scarf or a bow tie blouse.

Do you like and/or wear a camo jacket? How would you style it?

I don't wear camo jackets (yet ... ), but I'm sure you are able to style yours to perfection. I can easily imagine it will be the most elegant camo outfit I have ever seen.

Interesting version ! Can't wait to see it on you. Yes, I have and wear a camo jacket, but mine is a cotton , true utility style. I wear it both dressed up and dressed down, with dress pants or leggings/joggers etc. When it was in heavy rotation I used faux vintage rhinestone jewellery to accessorize it (pins on the front pocket, earrings, etc) .

I like to think of camo as a neutral and mix in a lot of pattern with it. It looks great with blues, pinks, earth tones, and animal prints. I love that the jacket shape is on the dressier side but the camo keeps it playful.

The leather trim should dress up the jacket. I like your styling ideas. I do not own anything camo.

Lisa P, thanks for the idea - I have a lot of faux vintage rhinestone jewelry - it will be a nice juxtaposition. Styling a bit like a denim jacket then ...

Molly Mac, thank you. Camo as a neutral is new to me (well, camo is new to me...:-)), I will try some pattern mixes as well.

I can't bring myself to wear camo in real camo colors and in a jacket -- it's too close to how it's worn in the hunting and gun culture in east Texas (where my husband is from and we spend a lot of time, even though we don't live there). But I like oddly colored camo -- I have a pair of shorts in shades of blue that I really like, and also a cashmere hat.

But I think it's a great piece and look forward to seeing you style it!

I'm with Janet. Hunting is huge in my area, and I'm decidedly not a hunter-except with my camera and in the shops!

Janet and Suntiger, thank you for your inputs, very interesting to learn about the culture in east Texas and the strong hunting community. I understand what you mean. Where I live in Europe, however, there is not a very profound hunting culture or even less of a gun culture as such. Fire arms are generaly illegal, with the exception of a hunting license and I am definitely not a hunter myself. The camo jacket to me personally is purely a fashion piece in a rather classic pattern. A little like army boots translated to fashion pieces. I don't want to wear the jacket in a literal way, but to style it with dressy, urban luxe pieces, juxtaposed with ladylike silks, dressy pants and vintage rhinestone or pearl jewelry. I hope it will work and the idea is to create a dressy dramatic look which is ladylike, luxe and with a portion of playfulness and fun.

Here it's all camo for the next few months-pants, shirts, hats, boots, sunglasses, underwear (probably)- and camo with pink bits (sure to fool the deer) in it for the ladies, including purses! I saw a camo flashlight too the other day-which is super easy to find when one inevitably drops it in a leaf pile...
Your version, I'm sure, will be much nicer! If anyone can make camo dressy and dramatic, you can

I am excited to see how you style your camo jacket. I have a pair of camo pants but I tend to stay away from camo for the same reasons as Janet and Suntiger.

I love it and would wear it in a heartbeat! I love the idea of a dressy camo jacket and this one with the leather detailing looks beautiful. No hunting culture in Australia and so camo is either for military or fashion looks.
