A book boast ETA: you can VOTE!

So, you probably know that many writers don't love Amazon. So I blush to say this. But my book has made this (admittedly bizarre and very quirky) list of 100 Canadian books to read in a lifetime.

I have NO idea how that happened.

I think you might be able to do this from Goodreads/ or Amazon.ca, also. But I am too confused to figure it out now.

I can tell just from reading your forum comments that you are an engaging writer. I notice how you always keep the focus on the person you're addressing and not yourself. And you are always so respectful. I'm not surprised that you have won many awards.

Well, I have a very good idea how that happened. The book is original, skilfully written and mesmerising -- but more importantly honest and authentic. Readers recognise this. There are several books which, after reading them, made me very picky about what I'd read next, because I wanted the experience of reading something special, not just another written piece, and your book is one of those.

I only found this out by accident. Another writer friend had posted on FB about his book being on there.

It's admittedly a pretty odd little list, but in a way that is what makes me happiest.

That is awesome! Congratulations. I hate to say it, but I would like to claim "newbie ignorance" and (ducking head) admit I didn't know "how" you were published (I knew you were a writer). Since there is no author "Suz" on the list, am I safe to guess "Pathologies..." is your book? I'd love to check it out!

Wow - that's fantastic Suz! I'm not sure how that list is generated either. But it's makes me even more eager to read it - in fact I ordered it yesterday while I was at the U of M Bookstore on "official business". Very exciting, and I hope Freehand reprints with the amazon award "sticker" on the front. I'll make sure the rep for this line pushes it - she's one of my best friends I just may have to get you to sign my copy when we finally get to meet !!!

Well, I have to tell you, it may have made the list, but it has not exactly been a hot seller for Freehand until now. But they've been super supportive anyway, bless them.

Lisa, I sort of imagine a few people from Amazon.ca and a few people from 49th Shelf throwing some names into a hat and then horse-trading. It's definitely a quirky selection and does not include a lot of books that people would expect.
