Patience totally pays off.
Today I went on an impromptu trip to the mall with a friend who's rebuilding her wardrobe from the ground up. We went to Torrid (she loves that place, too) and browsed the clearance section and LO AND BEHOLD, this beautiful crocheted crop top I was infatuated with last spring but didn't love enough to pay full price for was on the clearance rack. I think it was about $50, and I got it for $18. I wanted it in turquoise but they didn't have my size. I tried it a size up, which they did have, but this one looked better fit-wise. And I DO love all shades of blue so it doesn't feel like settling.
All I need now is a white camisole to wear under it (which was on my "buy as soon as there's a good deal" mental list anyway). I already have a black one that will work, but I think I'd prefer the higher contrast it'd have with white. It'll go with bottoms I already have and I'm thinking it'll look amazing with the white jeans I'm looking to buy this year. I love the hi-low hem and the soft drape of the sleeves over my broad shoulders. I'm so excited to wear this in warm weather and thinking of packing it for a trip to Florida in April or May because it's nice and breezy and will help me stay cool.
If you have any other brilliant ideas on how to style it, feel free to comment! I'd also love to hear what colors you think would work well with it. I dress much more colorfully in the spring than I do in the winter because hot weather makes me feel miserable and I need the pick-me-up. I live in the wrong part of the country.
