70's glam rock

Hey, I'm after idea's for a 70's party. The dress code is rock, glam rock, disco, flares etc. I'm skint so I found a short black dress in a charity shop which forms the basis of my outfit. I'm need to jazz it up with accessories so I'm hoping you beautiful people can help me out!

The front comes lower than my bra so I NEEDS something to go underneath it. I also need ideas for belts, necklaces, maybe gloves or a headband.

Any help would be appreciated and I'm rubbish at this sort of thing.

Rock 70s - Do you have knee high boots? Big hair ( if possible, or use a wig or hairpiece). Maybe a leather jacket? Lots of dark eyeliner will help too!

Disco 70s - either tall boots or platform sandals and tights, again big pair and lots of shine. Blue eyeshadow?

I usually look at what I have in the wardrobe that I can build on, make sure I have comfortable footwear, and focus on hair and makeup.

I'd google images of David Bowie from the '70s and start there. Or Debbie Harry. Probably not Iggy Pop, unless you want to go starkers.

We burned our bras in the 70's so I say go braless. That is what I did then.

Long, gold chains for necklaces. Can you belt the dress? If so, another gold chain would be great.

I was young in the 70's, but I do remember lots of gold chains!

And you have to get some eye shadow that glitters! Again, anything in a gold or bronze shade would work. That gold must've really stood out in the discos!

I had fun going through Pinterest and created a Disco board. What I found is a lot of pictures of what disco and the 70's were supposed to look like. Not what it actually did. I tried to capture some makeup shots also. The gold chains did not hit until the 80's really and were not part of disco. Here is the board.

Thanks for all your responses guys, it really helped! I got some blue eye shadow and I may crimp my hair for that infamous volume. Think I need to stock up on multiple necklaces from the looks of those articles. I also found these beauties:

Those boots are fantastic! And what a price. With those and your dress you have the perfect outfit foundation. Everything else is icing on the cake.
