I have to go with Parsley. I understand the author was trying to make the point that a person can shop anywhere and that style is not dependent on the amount one spends, but enough already. She doesn't have to keep repeating and putting down those who choose some designer pieces as not having a clue. Thrift is not superior to designer (nor is one exclusive of the other), nor vice versa.
Ultimately, no matter how often people repeat that you need to have your own style, etc. even a lot of people with almost unlimited funds who are photographed regularly don't. A LOT of people need help, and honestly, a blog/forum like this that meets people where they are instead of making a list of style dictates does far more to help. Even Anna dello Russo admits that she usually buys and wears piece for piece from the runway. She rarely wears anything other than exactly what was shown, and she really doesn't have a style of her own. Now, there's nothing wrong with that; it's what works for her. But for someone to develop their own style, a list of rules just isn't going to do it.
