I didn’t set any fashion goals this year. And then with the threat of tariffs I did a bit more shopping when the sales hit than I usually do, focusing on practical stuff like jeans and tees, a couple more shirt dresses because those seem about to vanish, and some really basic cardigans. Now I am mostly just working my way through that stuff, figuring out how to work everything in.

I did find some HEWI: tan and black long denim skirts (Wit and Wisdom and Madewell) and some really casual black long cotton blend shorts (Gemma and Jane). This is my first year I have seen the long tailored shorts I wanted readily available at lower end brands; the last few years they were at the Ganni level and I never pulled the trigger. I actually have a few more pair on order to try from Caslon, Madewell and Steve Madden. And a wild card from a British brand not familiar to me.

I don’t have any real goals for the rest of the year either; just to go back to what I thought was going to be a low key low buy year and be creative with what I have. Oh, and I do have a chunky old pendant I am going to try on a cord and see if it works. It may be too much of a BoHo stretch for me, but we’ll see.
