You looked beautiful, and it's amazing that your Mom made the dress, and that you and your sister both wore it, but it was made special for your day.
I was a flower girl in a wedding about 56 years ago, and there are photos of me with the bridesmaids in the same exact hairdos. I need to scan that photo - it's so classic '60s - our sheath dresses were very Jackie Kennedy influenced, and the bridesmaids wore elbow length gloves and carried a single rose. The bride was - and is to this day - the most stylish person I know besides Angie!

I love this so much! This is what I remember brides looking like when I was a little girl (born in 1958 -- same age as your beautiful dress!)! Happy anniversary to you and Mr. Maven!

Carla, they were yellow roses and I think white lilies. I found the invoice from the Inn not long ago, but I think the flowers were separate.

What beautiful photos---everyone looks spectacular. I really love the bridesmaids' dresses: that color! that style! those dyed to match shoes peeking out. I was a bridesmaid once where the dresses were more or less transferred over to the wedding from somebody's cousin's previous wedding. Needless to say (probably)---the dresses did NOT go so well the second time around. I shudder remembering mine---knife pleated pepto bismal pink polyester---millions of them starting at the waist and going full length. A sheer overlay on top over a spaghetti strap. Add in updos with lots and lots and lots of babies breath. Whew. The things we do for our friends!
