I love this concept Jenn and while on one hand it does sound easy, as I think about it more, 30 is more than you think. My jeans, pants and casual footwear would get there easily, as would exercise gear and coats. I have one or two sweaters that would be way way over, and a couple of tops too. But as I really think about a few well loved pieces that I feel I have had good wear from (a kimono jacket, a blue and white check dress, a long skirt, some heeled sandals) they are probably in the 18-20 range at the most...
I don't track, and probably won't. But my lesson from this is to be very careful in a couple of categories - casual summer sundresses, for example. I love them, I wear them - but I do not need more than 2. Evening dresses - most of them would be in the 4-6 wears each....
I am not someone who needs everything to mix and match, but some statement tops that I own are tricky to wear because of their features, so if I wear them five times a year I feel like I am doing well. While a couple are 2-3 years old, they are still not close to 30 wears in total.
My Pink UnderArmour Hoodie however, I think would be close to 300 wears now...owned for five years, worn all year, often multiple times per week. Still looks in mint condition!!
