30 x 30 Challenge (Lounge Wear Edition)

I did not include loungewear in my 30 x 30 capsule unless it was an indoor topper.

Circumstances were such that I found myself wearing loungewear nearly exclusively beginning January 17th. There were a few days when I forced myself to get dressed in "real" clothes, but as soon as I completed whatever task necessitated those "real" clothes, I resorted back to lounge wear immediately.

I have Winter and Summer Lounge Capsules. Both capsules are dramatically different. Because I secretly adore the pajama set that Olivia Pope wears on Scandal, my Winter Capsule is loosely based on that character. I wear pajama sets in the Winter. I own three right now. The first one is soft, soft flannel and I love it, but sometimes I can overheat in it.

If my pajama sets are in the laundry, I wear a bottom paired with a Jockey Camisole and oversized Cardigan. Everything is color coordinated because it matters to me.

When I have to wear "real" clothes, I pick my softest fabrics. I favor this long sleeved Caslon one-hundred percent cotton tee shirt. I don't wear it every single day, but some people might think I do. I have worn the tee shirt with Kut from the Kloth Jeans or grey ponte pants.

Fabulous capsule! I will try to find or make some finds, but do not own pjs at all. Sometimes I worry about what if I had to go to the hospital. I wear, when I am sick or have visitors staying overnight, a tank and undies over which I can pull loose pants and top that can be worn for napping.

That's why! I found myself having to spend nights in hotels with other people and/or visit homes of other people. The pajama sets somehow camouflage the fact that I am not wearing a bra. At least, that is what I am telling myself. I used to hide under a massive bulky robe. That worked for a while. I got tired of it.

All of my pajama sets are Ralph Lauren. I like the quality of the fabric. I like full length (not cropped) and full sleeve (not 3/4). Evidently, I really like loud patterns. You could see me from space in my red flannel pajama set.

What is your shirt (#9)? Good shape and color.

Hi Emily. The exact tee shirt is shown in the first Find below. I own two of them in peacoat. Some Forum members have commented that the Caslon brand runs a little large. I bought my normal size because I like the roominess.

This tee shirt gets worn a lot. I wear it for casual wear, lounging wear, and athletic wear. It is cozy comfortable and has never let me know. My only complaint is that I only like the one color. I wish they had other colors.

I also own the elbow length tee shirt in the same exact color. I find I wear the elbow length a lot less frequently. I still love them.

Awesome capsule. Thank you for sharing. I've expanded my loungewear capsule for around the home this past year. I'm a big fan of Soma's Cool Nights pj sets and have two, one with a tank and cropped pants and another with short sleeves and long pants. I also have a pair of Soma's "Cozy Nights" pj's that I've been living in when its cold. Super cozy. I wear the tops, and a pair of shorts, to bed.

Fantastic capsule. I love that you got inspired by a tv show and then carried out that inspiration fully.

What I see here is more than a stand-alone loungewear capsule, it’s almost a spectrum of clothing in slightly different registers. Your pajamas have similar overall shapes and lines to your soft pants/cami/cardigan outfits, and the latter share a color scheme with your easy does it “real” clothes formula. The different elements echo each other and all seem part of a coherent whole. I need to think about how to apply this to my own closet!
