Used online ordering for most items, so still waiting on orders. But, I took a quick trip to the store yesterday to try on a few things and pick up an order. Some takeaways:

  • Loved the fabric of the navy/white stripe Club Monaco dress (see Find) but it wasn't practical for my life. I found this to be a dressy, weighty, and warm polyester knit. If this had been in a long midi style I could wear to the office that would have been a possibility, but I experienced this as a casual dress design made with fabric too dressy. I thought it was well-made and the wrap on the skirt was generous.

  • I've ordered the plaid coat (see Find) in the dark red/burgundy shown online, but it will be a few days until it arrives. Saw the black/tan plaid version in a Small and tried it on. It's beautiful. I think it runs large and hope that either the XS or an XXS I've ordered will work out...both sizes are on their way to me. Didn't expect it to feel warm since there isn't a closure by the neck, but the shawl wrap is generous and the whole coat feels well-made. For reference, I'm 5'3"/110# and have really broad shoulders. Sleeves were long, but that's normal on me. In the Nordstrom video about the coat, the sales associate tries the coat on (in the red color), and I think this is a good representation of the fit based on my quick try-on.
  • The grey Eileen Fisher dress is probably going back. Need to try it on with leggings and see if it works better. It's beautifully cut and has pockets (yay!) but it's essentially a t-shirt weight fabric, so the drape is compromised. Hoping the leggings smooth it out somewhat, as I have a couple wool challis scarves from past NAS events that would go with the grey.
