#1-3: white jacket (on sale at Talbots). I've been looking for a white jacket for awhile. The fabric is a nice wool blend, but it's quite thin so that you can see the stripes thru it : (. Also, it looks a bit boxy. I don't ever button jackets, but included #3 so you can see the fit.

#4-5: teal tweed jacket (on sale from Talbots). This doesn't fill any wardrobe holes, but I do wear jackets a lot for work. The fit is good, but is this too "boring professor"? Also, it seems to "wrinkle" in the way it hangs a bit in the front.

#6-8: yellow loafers (on sale from endless). I really want some colored loafers for spring since reading Angie's teaser post. They're super comfy, but I'm afraid they look 'gappy' - maybe that's unavoidable with oxfords, since they are stiff along the side? I've exaggerated the gap by bending my foot in #7.

The teal tweed looks great on you. I'm not so sure about the white jacket. Also - I love the new loafers, but am unsure about that gap...do they flip off your feet when you walk around?

Thanks, VC. They actually feel really comfie and secure when I walk. It's just that the side piece is stiff, so it doesn't fit to my foot...hmmm...

The white blazer seems like it could be slightly tailored with darting in back to fit better. I like the fit and color of the teal jacket and think it would look really nice with deeper colors and a slightly longer, non-shirt tail layer under it.

I really like the 2 jackets. That teal color looks great on you. I also like the loafers, but they do seem to gap. Are they comfortable?

I actually saw these both "live" and I don't think that the pics due the teal jacket justice. It is a very pretty color that one doesn't often see in jackets. I like the white one too !

I agree with Velvety, the loafers are fantastic, but the gap on one shoe makes me unsure too. There is a differs in the gap between 6 and 7, do you know if there is a reason for that ?

Oh...I LOVE the shoes!! Those are so nifty and would bookend your hair and act as near nude shoes on you with bare legs. But I'm afraid I have no advice to offer about the fit. Maybe someone who wears loafers regularly can explain. Are they going to flip flop? If so, that would be a deal breaker for me, but perhaps not for everyone.

As for the jackets, you sound a bit unsure, and that makes me feel unsure, too. What else would you wear with the white one? It would bother me if darker colours and patterns were visible through it if I planned to wear it with those. On the other hand, if you've been wanting a white jacket for a long time and haven't found one, and this price is right, maybe it's okay. Still, I would think spring would bring many options for lighter jackets?

The tweedy one has a sort of hacking jacket vibe that I enjoy, especially the side view. And the colour is interesting and potentially really nice on you. You say it fits well but I was wondering about the shoulders; they look as if they might be a tiny bit too set in? Or maybe that's just the shape of them.

I have seen that blue tweed jacket irl and it is gorgeous. Please keep it, it looks great on you.
The shoes are also beautiful and also a keep imo.
The white jacket doesn't seem worthy of you.i would look for something else.

You don't sound happy with the white jacket. You don't like the boxy fit or how it's semi-transparent. Is it lined? Those concerns would have me returning the jacket, but I'm a little too picky sometimes. It looks nice enough in the photos, though!

I LOVE the green jacket. Keep that for sure.

The flats are really cute and a great color, but the natural gap (as shown in 6) still seems a little more dramatic than I'd expect from this style. I'd expect a gap to appear when arching your foot, but not so much when standing still. Perhaps these are too wide? Do they offer this shoe in a narrower version?

I want to love the white jacket, but the buttons seem too white. Does that bother anyone else?

I'm surprising myself with a big yay vote on the loafers. They look great on you!
The white jacket does seem a bit boxy... I vote return. The tweed jacket seems to fit you much better. I'd like to see it styled with a more relaxed blouse though. I wonder if the stiff white button down might be what is leaving you feeling a bit "professorish"

I think I'll return the white jacket and hold out for one that is more perfect. And I'm leaning towards keeping the other jacket and the shoes, which I'll wear around inside a bit more to be sure that they don't slip (although I don't think that they will).

I think I'd like the white jacket better if it had a lower stance. I kind of like that it is on the sheer side. LOVE the tweed and the loafers though. You must keep those. I think you will get lots of use out of them!

It's a deeper v in the front--at least that's what I think it is. Lol! I'd better check my blazer terminology before I start throwing labels around! Ha!

ETA: Did you by chance try the jewel toned tuxedo jackets? I see they are on sale. SO gorgeous!

I really like the tweed jacket and the loafers. Do you think there would be room to try a drugstore shoe insert in the loafers? It may help the gap by raising your foot up just a bit.

Those loafers look fantastic! I concur with the others that the tweed jacket and the loafers are great. My fashion vocabulary isn't good enough to explain what seems off about the white jacket but it just seems not quite right.

PS. Does the green jacket fit true to size (or true to their size charts)?

Sylvie - I always wear a Talbot's 4P in jackets and this one was not exception. (And that's nearly what I always wear in jackets). So, yes, I'd say that they fit TTS.

I'm with the majority. Great loafers, and the gap would not bother me as long as they were comfortable. Really fab teal blazer, not stuffy at all!

ETA: A second thought about the blazer. Does it not fill a hole because you already have a lot of green blazers or a lot of tweedy blazers? If so, you might want to hold out for something of a different style, like longer tails.....

I like the tweed jacket, the fit is nice. The white jacket seems a bit plain. Maybe changing out the buttons to something more fun would help, but that wouldn't help it being see thru. You can't see that in the photos. I like the loafers, too. I was just looking at those online in either shiny navy or orange. I was hoping to see them in person at the store locally, but they don't seem to have those colors in canada right now. The yellow is a fun color!

Yes! Gosh, I swoon every time I see that jacket. It's divine--just not something I would get a lot of wear out of. I like dressy with casual but that looks slightly too dressy for me.

@Sylvie: I found the fit TTS too at least in the velveteen blazer. I'm 5'3" which seems on the tall side of short for their petite line.

I like the color and shape of the teal jacket! That looks a workhorse.

I LOVE the bright white on you; you look absolutely fantastic in bright white. Do have to admit I find the jacket a little shapeless.

I'm into the idea of loafers right now, but confess the gap would probably make me, personally, unhappy.

But boy do I like white on you! I so cannot wear white.

Rachylou, I never would have considered a white/cream jacket until I saw them on Queen Mum, MaryK and others. I will keep looking after that ringing endorsement for wearing white!

Isis, it's a bit similar to some other tweed jackets I have, but I think that this one is better, actually, in terms of fit and color and heck, it was only $40 what with the crazy sales that Talbot's has been having...

Love the shoes and the tweed jacket but agree the white jacket is not quite perfect. Keep looking as I'm sure you will find the right jacket.

I didn't read any of the other responses, but I vote keep the teal jacket and the loafers and return on the white coat. The loafers are fun, the croc press and color is fab! The teal jacket looks like a great jacket and I am sure you'll get plenty of use. The white jacket... I want to see something with longer (vertically) lapels; the wide 3-button setup there doesn't look very modern to me, and having long verticals will give you a leaner line.

Sarah, I love the teal tweed jacket. Is it the "Kate Fit Shetland"? If yes, will you tell me how you found the sizing to run (perhaps you could compare to Ann Taylor or BR?)? I want to order the gold one, but I am afraid the smallest size available (2) might be too big. It would *definitely* be too big if this jacket runs bigger than a jacket sized the same way in AT or BR. Thank you for your help!

Stephanie, I always wear a 4P, and that Kate fit jacket is TSS for me (note that I'm a bit busty - 32D). I don't have any AT or BR jackets, I'm afraid. I do have a ATL jacket that is also a 4P and the two jackets fit very similarly on me.
