3-1/2 inch heels

We discovered an unopened xmas present yesterday: a gift from my DH to me, that had been forgotten. It is a pair of 3-1/2 inch pointy-toed, crimson patent leather Ralph Lauren Black Label pumps!!!

I don't usually wear anything over 2 inches... 2-1/2 inches is my absolute limit.

However, I have to say.... these shoes are surprisingly comfortable, and I can even walk in them without looking foolish! (For how long... is anyone's guess at this point).

So what do I wear with them? My jeans are all hemmed for lower heels. Except, I guess, my straight legs and my skinnies, which are hemmed for scrunchability with any heel height.

DH and I have the anniversary of our first date - 7 years ago - coming up in a few weeks.

Suggestions?

I think the strunchable jeans will be fine, and you can always wear them with skirts and dresses. I think the functionality of those shoes is limited as it is, so it seems fine to me if they don't go with everything in your wardrobe.

I'm guessing it may be better to see them with jeans or a skirt, full-length view? To ensure my 5'0" frame isn't appearing to topple over in them?

... my gut instinct tells me that these shoes would work best with PPL pants or jeans for that reason, but I haven't tried them on yet with skirts/dresses.

(The shoes did get the thumbs up from my teens - they were giggling because the shoes make me a smidge taller than them!)

Wow, those are gorgeous! I think they would definitely look good with pants and jeans that are the correct length. I'm not sure about skinnies, but they may still work with straight leg jeans. I think they would also look killer with a pencil skirt.

Those shoes are gorgeous Shiny! I think they are very versatile: PPL jeans and pants, scrunched skinnies, skirts and dresses - they would all work in my opinion.

Thanks all! DH said he knew enough not to buy me clothes because I'm too picky. So he snuck into my closet and determined my shoe size, then deliberately picked this pair because he thought they were... well.. sexy. :-0

Inge - finding an unopened present in the New Year is sad testament to the sorry state of our living room at present moment, I'm afraid. And the fact DH has been sick for over a week, and not thinking as clearly as usual.

Angie - Yes, I *can* walk in them - I'm VERY surprised about that! There must be something right about the vamp for me; normally shoes this high just put me into horrible pain with every step, and I can barely walk. In these I can not only walk... I can strut.

I don't think I could wear them for hours on end, but definetly for a date night (provided there's no ice and snow on the ground to break my neck!).

I will have to experiment with what to wear with them. I'm still thinking best bet is PPL slacks... they may work with my velvet slacks or a pair of black dress pants I have that have always been annoyingly long to begin with.

Violet: pencil skirts are one item I have a really hard time finding. I've never been sure why that is, but the fit is always off.

If nothing else, I'll just wear them at home with a negligee.

I love the color crimson better than red for shoes. It's demure and subtle but still sexy and eye catching. I'm sure you'll find ways to wear them outside the house so they won't be wasted!

Love the shoes. Love, love love the shoes. Finding a forgotten Christmas present in January would be awesome. If they had those shoes in it, amazingly awesome. What great taste your dh has!

If your dh bought them because he thought they were sexy, I'd probably wear a LBD with them on a date with him, to amp up the sexiness factor. They'd definitely go with pretty much anything, though, like everyone else has said.

What great taste your DH has. I love that color. Is crimson a cool red, with tomato red being a warm red?
Wish I could walk in such heels.
They will go with just about anything you want to wear them with.
