It's been ages since I've been to NYC. Recently, watching movies and TV shows set there, I've really gotten the urge to visit the Big Apple. Well, guess who is lucky enough to be sent to the area for work? Yep! I'll be in NJ M-W and have carved out about 24 hours to spend frolicking around the city Thursday next week.
Problem is, I haven't been there in ages. I don't know how to focus my time. Of COURSE knowing me I must MAXIMIZE my visit! LOL
Unfortunately budget is tight, so shopping will be (mostly) out - unless I remember something I can't get elsewhere. Which of course is probably the case, this is NYC after all. Feel free to tempt me ...
So, what's a girl to do with a Thursday free in the City?
I've heard good things of the highline.
I am more of a Downtown girl (used to work in Soho, lived in Chelsea). Midtown doesn't excite me much.
Hotel reservation made for TriBeCa area.
First thought is to walk my tail off, something I enjoy immensely. Find a nice coffee shop for breakfast. Have some sort of baked goods since they're not so great where I live now. Maybe hit Balthazar, it was hot back in the day and apparently still pretty consistent. Eat street food with reckless abandon (well, I do that at home, too, but NYC street food is different!)
I love to walk, people watch, take the subway, eat well and basically act like a local.
So - what would you do if you were me??
Suggestions greatly appreciated!!

Thank you, YLF!
