I love almost all my 2021 items of clothes, shoes and purses. Some of them were bought for practical reasons, some as experiments and replacements. But there are additions to my wardrobe that helped me to recognize and define the shift in my style. This is not a huge, earth shattering change. I didn’t become a maximalist or a pattern mixer
But it’s significant enough for me. Hopefully, it clarified my vision for future edits and new purchases. I have an understanding of how I want to evolve my style, at least fo now. Here are items that helped me.
1. Levi’s straight ribcage jeans.
I wear jeans more often than ever before. Keeping my jeans collection current is very important to me. Even more important, though to find among the trends what works for me.This year I moved away from slimmer straight jeans. I experimented with different shapes but found that this style of Levi’s is what works the best for me.
2 - 3 Classic shoes.
4. Uniqlo +J collection.
Last year I tried +J and found that it was not for me. I bought a couple of shirts but overall shapes were wrong for me. But this year… I found that the collection is exactly what I was looking for and want to wear now - oversized but not sloppy, subdued, simple but with the small interesting details. And although I’m concerned about the size of my wardrobe, I could not help myself and bought a lot. I appreciate the quality and design, not too mention that this is as close as I will ever get to anything with the Jil Sander name. I’m going to use this collection as a point of reference for my style. I’m moving away from classic cuts in clothes for the future purchases and will add classic elements as accessories like shoes.
