I am one of those people who prefer pen and paper over digital planners. I do use digital planners too but I like to write things down!

Every year, I buy my agendas from Quo Vadis, a old family run French business.

I like that once you have found a format that you like, it is possible to only buy the refill. I usually buy a refill on the last week of December, however this year I bought the new agenda last September as I worried about Brexit!

If you need a new planner, I highly recommend this company the pages are made from recycled paper and it writes beautifully - imho even better than Moleskine and Leuchtturm - even with a fountain pen!

This year I decided to go for an agenda with a prefilled bullet journal format and some black pages, see below the images! It's now completed and I am looking forward using it next! I found the blank pages so useful as I can add more comments and notes!

Do you have any preferred agenda? I'd love to hear your experiences.

Quo Vadis was my day-timer of choice for almost 40 years (school followed by work). These days DH and I share a simple monthly planner (one month at a glance) and I have a 2 year mini planner for my bag.

Good to know! I will try them next year. I've been using Brownline agendas for years - Canadian, I think....

I do paper too ... I use different brands, whichever one has the format I like ... This one the brand is Plato, nothing fancy but works! (And I make my own tabs with my label maker)

My daughter loves to bullet journal; I'll have to show her your hybrid solution!

Anyone see the article in the WSJ over the weekend about what people are doing to be rid of 2020? (There's a paywall or I'd post). People are burning their 2020 day timers as a symbolic purge of this year! I'm down with that.

I was able to let go of paper day timers a few years ago. It was a hard transition, but I've not looked back. I was always very particular - Week-At-A-Glance was my go-to!

Rachylou, Mr Minu was a big fan of Filofax but then I managed to convert him - based on the fact that the paper quality was better and one could buy a refill

Torontogirl, I think your daughter would like that. There is a monthly overview, followed by a weekly list and some dotted pages for tracking or other personal notes.

Laurie, interesting article! I am not yet sure if I will ever be able to leave my agendas... I have recently learnt to recycle the old agenda, I used to keep them (not sure why …)

I am still trying and testing different formats, this year I will try a bullet journal, I don't know if this will be the right format for me but I am willing to give it a go. Maybe next year I will separate the planner with a tracking journal, let's see.

I tried bullet jounaling but setting it all up was a pita. So I bought this Day Designer cause I needed space for hourly appointments. It has spots each day for gratitude, so that saves me another notebook. But it's Heavy

I'm a Moleskine girl. Every time I stray, I always end up back with their Weekly Notebook Planner in various sizes or colors.

I am planner OBSESSED. I used the Hobonichi Techo (a small Japanese company for the last couple of years - I loved their Beautiful Tomoe River paper that is sturdy but thin (weekly, monthly, yearly and daily pages all in one book!)

Before that I used the Passion Planner. I tried the Arc bound planners too. Now I am using the Filofax notebook - a notebook with pages that can be taken in or out or moved - and using inserts from other planners. I am trying kind of a bullet journal hybrid to accommodate my drawing, painting and agenda. I am very particular!

To be perfectly honest, we use google calendar to be in sync as a family. But, I still like to have a little bullet journal as a creative outlet as well as to take notes and make lists. I am not at all artistic, so I enjoy doing this tiny bit of art every month.

My go-to is a dotted Rhodia A6 softcover. I've been using them exclusively for two years and love picking out the next color. I am currently using a turquoise one and will be switching to a poppy colored one in the new year. Pictures don't do the colors justice.

Flytigress, youtube is a fab source for agenda reviews/bullet journaling and planning!

Suntiger, that's the dilemma! I want a light agenda but need space to write down everything! The layout of your agenda looks fab.

Jenn, moleskine does nice agendas, unfortunately the paper doesn't work too well for fountain pen, which I have to use to avoid tendinitis! Bizzarely, it works.

Roxanna, aww, ooh... Hobonichi Techo!!! I heard very good reviews of it!

Bella, it is nice to have a creative outlet!

I've used Quo Vadis and Moleskine in the past - great quality.

I'm a discbound user myself; I like the flexibility. I've gotten most of my covers, dividers etc. from Staples or Office Depot over the years, but Michaels also carries Happy Planner discbound items and Levenger has the best discs. Many of my layouts are printable from Etsy shops or just ones I made myself. My current weekly calendar section is one from Office Depot, and my new monthly spreads for 2021 are from Cloth and Paper, which is one of the new indie planner companies that have been popping up in the last couple years.

Journals seem so civilzed. I had a dayrunner back in school--when I had a lot of things to keep track of. I think I still do but work/home are on different platforms plus my personal "notes" on my phone. I'm pretty sure I forget a lot of stuff...and could be a lot more organized but it sounds like a lot of work to get there. I have good intentions but poor follow through although I'm tempted to try again.

Kellygirl, everybidy has their own preferred method! I try to separate work and home as well but it's all blurry this year!

@minaminu: yes. I keep thinking about this and wondering if this is a good way to set some small goals and not forget them. I'm not a big goal setter--not sure what that says about me honestly. Lol. My most annoying trait is that in general, I'm a finisher--so I don't like starting anything that I don't think I will follow through on.

I went digital for my personal planning about 5 years ago, but I recently started to keep a paper planner (again) from Franklin Covey for family planning. I write all our chores, to do’s and upcoming appointments and review them with DH daily. I never thought I would like digital, but I love it! One less item to carry in my handbag. No fretting that I may lose it......
