One week in... the credit cards are stowed, the emails are unsubscribed, and the priorities are (sort of?) set.
My style words stay the same this year: classic, color, simple, sparkle, and polish.
My word for the year: GRACE. This came to me solidly last month as both a need to rise above some challenges, and as a quality I value in other women. That ability to take things in stride, and ensure that I'm bringing something focused and positive to every interaction is a long-term goal, so now's a good time to start.
My color for the year is CINNAMON. I went back and forth between a vibrant pink and a cinnamon brown. But while on Christmas vacation, I was struck speechless by a view of the wood of a Sequoia tree, so Cinnamon it is. This will take careful shopping as it's a tough color for me to wear.
I do not have a specific shopping or budget target for the year, as my closet is in good order, but do plan to continue tracking my purchases (not wears) both in my spreadsheet and a collection. I intend to add a section in my spreadsheet to note essentials, wildcards, and workhorses. As usual, I don't have a goal here, just looking for information.
I do want to do a better job of utilizing my closet, and not just going to tried-and-true. So my goal is to create a series of capsules, and do a better job of shopping my closet. I'd then like to track capsule outfits somehow to make sure I'm wearing them... this may be a mid-year goal.
I'm also going to start tracking in my calendar the days that I have clothes crises. The most frustrating days for me are those where I go through multiple outfit ideas before landing on something (or running out of time and going to a FFBO). I'm an emotional dresser, so don't do a great job planning outfits ahead of time. But maybe I can find a connection and minimize these days.
Looking forward to another year of inspiration and camaraderie!
