2 pairs of Martin Skinny pants or 1 skinny and 1 straight?

Hi all,

I'm about to splurge (for the zillionth time since finding YLF!) on 2 pairs of BR Martin pants but I'm wondering whether to get 2 pairs of the skinny pants (1 black and 1 coal) or 1 pair of the Martin skinnies and 1 pair of the Martin straight pants?

My sister bought me a pair of Martin wide leg pants which fit really well.

Opinions? Anyone have experience with the Martin straight pants?

Megan, I have the Martin skinnies in black and coal, but don't have any of the straight legs so thank you for adding another item to the list of things I "need."

are the skinny and the straight going to be in the same color? for me this is a black pant/gray pant question, as i have too many black pants. if you're still building your closet, do you think you'd want the skinny in black and the straight in gray or vice versa?

What's the balance of straight vs. skinny in your current wardrobe? Do you see skinnies as being a trend or something that'll be around a while?

I'm probably not any help as I just ordered my 2nd pair of the Martin skinnies and am waiting for my size to come back in in a third color :O I figure trend or not, skinnies are classic in a 60s way and they flatter me so I'm going to wear them and be happy regardless:)

I say go for one pair of each to add variety in pant styles for your wardrobe unless you have a hole to till (ie wanting more skinnies and have none) then order two of one style.

Hard to say, as I have not tried on either. I did order two of the skinnies (black and gray), because I want to be able to tuck, and I'm hoping for enough scrunch to wear with ballet flats as well. I was afraid the straights would be untuckable.

That being said, the straight legs could run very similar to the skinnies and be "tuckable," too, if that's of interest to you. It's one of those things that can also be very body specific...Both could fit snugly on you, or quite the opposite...and I thought I saw a couple of reviews saying the gray was running smaller than the black.

Helpful, aren't I? lol

Oh, and to further complicate things, I also read in the reviews that the rise is higher on the skinny than the straight! (But you could check that out with customer service for more accuracy.)
