Went to The Bay early this afternoon to look for nude pumps and came home with those and a new dress.
The pumps are nude patent leather, kitten heel, pointy toe Cole Haan with Nike air technology. My goodness...like walking on clouds! I want these in every colour. Plus the fit is just amazing - not a pinch or slip anywhere. These will be a go-to shoe for me, I can tell.
My other item is a long sleeve silk-ponte knit blend, cowl neck dress by Olsen Europe. This is not normally a brand I look at for two reasons: very expensive and not really made for petites. But something about this slightly wild abstract animal print in white, purple, black and taupe called to me. When I slipped it on, I felt luxurious. The fabric is amazing against the skin. This can be a three season dress for me - everything but during the heat of the summer.
I've done a few quick ideas with the dress and can also picture it with my cream leather jacket when it gets back from alterations. Perhaps even with my black leather blazer and Doc Marcie boots for cooler weather. When I looked at the pictures with the dress, I must admit I felt disappointed. It really does not translate well into photos but I assure, IRL it looks much better. One question - should I have it shortened a bit?
I also did some playing around with my taupe skirt (hey taupe skirt twin Suz!). This skirt is the reason I went hunting for nude pumps. I've paired it with a few different tops and also tried it with the Boutique 9 peep toe oxfords. Again, I can picture the skirt with my cream leather jacket.
What do you think of these stylings? What does and doesn't work? Would also love to hear any suggestions you have on other ways to wear the dress, the pumps and the taupe skirt.
Thanks all!
P.S. Hubby thought my purple booties would look smashing with his grey bathrobe - what do you think?
