2 Feet in 20 hours...

and the snow hasn't stopped yet! This is a record breaking dump!
pic #1 - the snow is as high as our fence line!
#2 - DH shoveling out to spruces to be able to knock snow off them
#3 - DH's natural beer cooler!
#4 - saving our tree. Last year there was a "dead line" from the snow coverage. We're taking better care this year.
#5 - "walking stick" tree...it looks pretty neat snow covered but too much snow right now
#6 - made it out to the garage!
#7 - time to shovel the side and out to the front! (might wait till snow is done and do it tomorrow)
#8 - We went snow shoeing earlier today and got interviewed on live tv for the news!

Around 18 inches here is se pa and it is still snowing. My DH bought a new snowblower at the end of last year that handles the big snowfall really well. Plus it has heated handles! Well anyway, the dog loves the snow was was running around for at least 10 mins and now she is sleeping soundly.

Maybe I should come over for a cold beer. I made chili!

So fabulous! I'm a little envious. We're having Godzilla El Nino, so instead of snow, we're getting rain. While we don't have to shovel, it's not as pretty or as much fun.

Windchime - Thanks! It was our first time snowshoeing. I was really hoping to see the interview but just glad I got to see a picture! It was really cold and very windy and the coat worked really well.

Your pictures are beautiful Janet! So lovely!
We have lots of backbreaking work today too... ugh! We just finished around our side and out front to the street, we have yet to do the driveway. I'm on break to heat up some soup and a sammy for us.
Our official measure is 31.5". How about you?

Wow Donna, that's a lot of snow! And a lot of work to deal with it. Be careful and don"t hurt yourselves.

Kelly- You have a good memory! I'm the Donna from Texas. When I signed up over seven years ago the forum was a relatively small group and I just used my first name. Since I don't comment very often it can be confusing to keep the multiple Donna's straight.

NPR this a.m. had snow recipes like maple candy and a variation of Hawaiian shave ice. Sounded fun, but I'm in El Nino rain country.

That's a lot of snow. I think we got maybe only 4 inches or so in Boston.

DonnaF - that's funny about the NPR recipes. We forgot to keep sipping on our water-tubes when we were snowshoeing so they froze within minutes. About an hour and a half in I suggested we eat some snow! (I ended up drinking straight out of the reservoir)
You're right about it being prettier when you are warm Eliza. We filled our gas cans just in case. Thankfully the snow didn't really stick to the trees or it would've have been much worse!
Diana - I loved the snowshoeing! I just got them for us last month and this was our first time. And today I got to watch the video of us that they played on the news!
