12 x 12 and shoe problems!

So in envisioning my 12 x 12 program, I have been successful for the most part with clothes (barring a couple of cave-ins on unexpected wish list items that dropped in price), but am drooling over shoes! All of these are crying for me to try them. Can you talk me out of anything?

I can't remember, do you have wide feet? My Coltranes are a bit narrow (even though I went up a size), so they rub my feet in weird places :/

Hm, Docs! Do they duplicate anything you already have? What hole do they fill?

Do any of these have zip entries? I remember you saying you don't tend to wear things that take effort to put on.

I am calming myself with the idea that 12 x 12 is sort of the shopaholics version of abstinence. If you don't envision needing it in your wardrobe, is it just a want?

Interesting, because you have recently wrote about wearing the same pair of shoes over and over again!

I dedided to abandon my strict 12 in 12 because I was needing to replace things ( though I haven't actually gone over the monthly limit yet). Shoes are the hardest because I do wear them out every year. Not sure this is really your issue

How much use will 1 get, do you think you would wear them as much as your clogs? no no, they will clash...and you already have black so you don't need those 3...and um, Docs take forever to break in and in the meantime you will be annoyed....there ya go, no shopping needed (send 1 to me,size 9)

I'd fear you're duplicating (a good thing, but still, not necessary) with #2 and #3 --- they're close enough to your other boots, and would functionally be almost interchangeable even if they look different and are aesthetically exciting and droolworthy and all that...

#1, on the other hand, is more unique. But is it functional for your life? Where and when on earth would you wear that gorgeous thing? (Don't say 'Hawaii'; I think it might be too much for the beach.)

2 and 3 are just boots and you already have fantastic boots.

1-think I should talk you into. Buckle is way easier to deal with than laces. The green! ( would they look FAB with the space suit?). They are unique. I think they are perfect for Alaska, they give the look of a light shoe with the cut outs but enough coverage for warmth.

Shoes...they are a problem, aren't they? I drool and dream over shoes ALL THE TIME! What is it with us and shoes/boots anyway???

Ok...here's my attempt at reasoning...you mentioned recently that you are the wearing the heck out of your Gidigios. Do you need an other pair of footwear so that you can let your Gidigios rest now and then? If so, I would go with the last patent pair. I can see those working really well for you.

I think the Coltrane's are gorgeous and unique BUT I think they could be difficult to style with the cut outs and I'm not sure how much use you'd actually get out of them given your weather and length of winter.

The silver boots are cool but not as versatile as the black patent.

Ok...that's all I got for you.

I can't wait for those black patent ones to appear on the Canadian site! I think they would be my choice for you.
