I was inspired by the way she wore a draped cardi under her moto jacket:

Excuse the non-fab shoes. Took the kids to the park and didn't want to mess up my nicer options.

AJ you just have some of the wickedest style I have ever seen Really inspiring!
Love the idea of it.I think your cardigan is just a *touch* long under the jacket, but the overall look is great--edgy and cozy at the same time

I love the colors, and it's certainly visually interesting. The cardigan almost looks like a very big, cozy scarf...overall, I like it!

I love the idea and it's reaaaallly close to working, but I agree it would be even better if the cardigan was just a bit shorter. I love how willing you are to try new things!

AJ, I love the outfit. I think it would work even better with a cardi that is not quite as long and full as this one. You could also try a jacket color that blends more with the color of the cardi and jeans for more of a tone-on-tone look (although I do like grays and browns together). I think the contrast the jacket's color brings to this outfit may be throwing it off a teeny bit.

Of course it counts for the challenge!!

Is that a scarf on top of the cardi, or is the cardi two-tone? I love the gray sweater and cognac jacket -- the only thing that's throwing me a little is the bit of dark blue around the neck.

And I am totally going to copy this look myself some time before Thanksgiving!

Thanks everyone! The draped cardi is shorter in the back by 9 inches, but it is a bit full like Sparky mentioned which is throwing off the sleekness factor.

I don't mind that the jacket is not the same tone as the cardi, but I will try this again with my other draped cardis to see if I can get the length proportions right.

Ooohhh, what do you think about trying it with my teal blue cardi? Not sure what color tee or top to wear inside the cardi....maybe the same teal blue?

MaryK - The cardi has a subtle stripe and in addition, I have a long, thin, black knit scarf around my neck. I'm not sure about the blue that you are seeing.

A white tee did cross my mind, but I think white would further emphasize my apple bits, so I think I need it to be as dark or darker than the cardi. : )

I would love to see your teal sweater with that jacket. With the outfit as is, somehow I am thinking that either the sweater needs to be shorter or the sweater should stay the same and the jacket should be a little more cropped. In any case your adorableness shines through as always.

AJ, I love this! I have that exact same moto jacket and I am really excited to try what you have done with it; I haven't seen this before and it is really up my alley. I kind of like it with the drama of the extra black scarf and the long cardi.
