I wasnt able to do the recent capsule challenge, but I had some time today to play in my closet, which I'd just cleaned up this past weekend.

I pulled my 10 favorite late summer items, well, the dress isn't a favorite favorite, but it's my most versatile, dress. I was somewhat surprised by how well it all works together, although the white shirt is the only dress combo I'd wear out of the house.

9. Rag and Bone Capri skinnies (yes, Capri, I'm that short!)

What an amazing exercise! I totally want to try it with my closet now, just for the learning experience. #2, 5, 11, and 16 are my favorites of your outfits.

Wow, that's an awesome capsule! Everything plays together beautifully (I like all the dress combinations, personally), and I bet you could live out of it for a very long time before anyone had an inkling that you were working with 10 items of clothing. Awesome shoes, too... I'm a new Frye convert and am definitely admiring yours!

These are all great outfits, Traci. I agree with Srah that you could live out of that capsule for a while if you needed to. And I like the Frye booties on you a lot! My favorite outfits here are 2, 6, 11, 14.

I agree with everyone – terrific capsule and a lot of great outfits. I do not love the last one (photo #17), but all the others look great on you. Those sandals are fantastic, and add a lot of flair to each of the outfits you're wearing them with. I think my top favorite is the dress and sandals, photo #14, but there are a lot of runners up.

Wow this is a great set of outfits. My favorite is the grey dress and adorable sandals. Not sure why that dress isn't your favorite. Runner up for me is #2, but I like them all.

I'm also loving your hair! I'm growing out a pixie and it is taking forever, so I need something to inspire me to stick with it.

Wonderful capsule, compliments! This is my dream wardrobe - a small set of items that all work well together. You are inspirational. I especially like the outfits with the floral top. I think it is very flattering on you. And I agree with Shevia about hair and shoes !

Thanks so much everyone for playing along with me! It was a fun, albeit sweaty, exercise. I do feel like I could live out of just this set for quite some time before I'd get bored. The laundry part is always what does me in.

I was really happy with the shoes. When I've tried to make capsules in the past, I've found that I grabbed shoes that might make the best capsule in pictures, but that I won't really wear all day every day. These two are comfortable enough I could rotate them for 10 days without a problem.

Karen13, I'm finding for growing out my hair it's been important that I still get it cut every 8 weeks to give it a shape. I may be making the process take a little longer that way, but I feel so much better about how it looks for the most part. I try to wait until I just can't stand it anymore, then I schedule a shape up. I'm on my second growing out cut right now.

2, 3, 5, 11, and 16 are my favorites but as Berkeley Girl said, there are lots of runners up. I love the floral top and sandals. I too am very inspired this. With such a small group of items you've come up with a wonderful assortment of looks. Thanks for putting this together.

What a great capsule. I usually mix and match like that at the start of a season, then I settle and repeat the outfits I like best. In your capsule, I'd choose #2-6-11-14. Love your hair too.

Yes – very cute hairstyle! And it works well with your capsule outfits. Just simple and perfect, like the clothes. You're right, that basic dress is VERY versatile.

This is what I understand by "capsule". I realize that people now use that term to refer to all sorts of sets of clothing, but to me, this is the "real" meaning. Why do you say you wouldn't wear most of the dress combos out of the house?

Fashion intern, the competing necklines in the dress combos would drive me crazy by the end of a day of real life.

I'm not sure exactly what it is about this type of capsule that my mind finds so soothing, but they really appeal to me!

Great exercise and results, thanks for sharing! I can see why you feel it's a viable capsule.

[I can't see why the necklines/combo in #15 would drive you up a wall IRL, though -- love it on you! But that's such a great print on you I admit I may be biased.]
