“Jazz hands” casual - YouLookFab Forum

I think the term “glasual” is too silly, but adding some glam or shine or pizzazz to a casual outfit is totally my jam. I will happily think “do I need to add some jazz hands to this outfit?” going forward.

I like this approach a lot. “Smart casual” always sounded a bit too buttoned-up to me, but this take seems more fun and appealing. When I consider it, this is my approach most of the time: take a basic outfit jeans and a tee or sweater, and add something like a patterned scarf, big statement ring, and a great jacket to finish it. “Glasual” might grow on me as a term, as I’m not really a “jazz hands” kinda person.

Not sure if I'll adopt the term "glasual" into my vocabulary, but I typically try to incorporate some eye catching accessories to a very basic jeans/pants + shirt/sweater formula, which is my work uniform. Like the article stated, "Think of it like hot sauce for your wardrobe: just a dash and you're good and spicy."

A bit of sheen, some mad earrings, a bold eye colour, or a bold colour combination could all be strategies that work.

I read or hear "jazz hands" and I immediately think of the Queen of Jazz Hands and Professional Fun-Haber Ms. Mary. I love how exquisitely branded she is.

I absolutely love this idea -- it's a great distillation of what I need to aim for with a "dressy" capsule for my casual lifestyle, and also of why I should bother. "These are clothes to wear because you are seeing your friends and your friends are brilliant." -- that's just so lovely.

I am actually coming around to the term -- the silliness of "glasual" or "glamsual" (I agree the latter is better) kind of creates space to consider the concept, iykwim.
