Booties are a great alternative on days when you want to wear socks with your shoes, but don’t want to wear boots, loafers or oxfords. These little darlings are delicious and available in three colours (black, grey and tomato red). The leather is soft and stretchable and the 2 inch heel is perfect. I had to go up half a size to accommodate my long toes and insole but you might be fine in your normal foot size. I have the red and am putting them through their stylish paces right now.

Tissue-Weight Cashmere Scarf
Nordstrom brings these out every year and they’re my favourite solid cashmere scarf because they are light, warm, soft, non-itchy and last forever. I like how you can wrap this item around your neck a few times without feeling like something is cutting off your circulation. I also fancy the subtle eye-lash fringed edges. Great for indoor and outdoor dressing.
Stacked Heel Ankle Booties
These trendy high fashion babies are fabulous. They’re not what I’d call 8-hour walking shoes but totally comfortable if you can wear a heel for a few hours at a time. They’re best with skirts and dresses when you add a dark hose or tights thereby giving you your long lean line. Alternatively, wear them over skinnies or cigarette pants. These booties are about showing off the clever design detailing so don’t hide them under boot cuts or slacks.
The Best Stretch Camisole
These are still my very favourite cotton camisoles of all time. I have been wearing them for almost four years and replenish as necessary. They are always available in a whole slew of colours and they are long enough to layer under tops as well. Their soft texture, satin binding and lack of shelf bra make them an absolute win. Comfy and pretty. They wash and wear well too. Pop them in the dryer and no shrinkage. Go up a size though because they run small.
Metallic Bateau Neck Tank
I was excited to see this item on because the fabric is pure genius. It shimmers as you move and adds just the right amount of iridescent textural interest to a plain black garment. It’s made of a glorious knit that retains its shape and is easy to launder. Perfect under a blazer with jeans, with a pinstripe suit, or with a pencil skirt and textured hose. It’s a great silhouette for gals with long necks and smaller bust lines, but don’t let that body typing stop you from trying the garment. You might find this top more flattering than you think.
Killer Plus Size Caftan Dress
This dress fits absolutely beautifully. Hip, elegant, flattering, fun and above all comfortable to wear. And yes! Bustier gals need to try this particular empire cut too because the fit is genius. Dress it down with flat rugged boots and a scarf, or dress it up with hose, heels and bling. You might need to shorten the length because it’s quite long, but that’s an easy alteration. It’s a available in a few colours, but black gets my vote.
Hunter Wellington Boots
Waterproof rubber boots are a must if you’re commuting in the pouring rain, traipsing around in mud or standing along the sidelines of a drenched soccer field. Needless to say, everyone in Seattle has a pair of wellington boots! Hunter wellies are pricey but they’re worth it. The quality is a cut above the rest, the contoured fit adds a sophisticated edge and the rubber is super flexible. You’ll feel the difference as soon as you pop these on and compare them to the $15 variety. Promise.

Frye Short Cowboy Boot
I’m all over short cowboy boots as a fun casual ankle boot option. Frye’s boot collection has been stellar this season and the ones below are particularly comfortable. I have happy clients putting these through their paces right now! It’s orthotic and insole friendly and the distressed grey leather is something else. Perfect for Mum on the go and cold Spring days when you’re sick of wearing heavy black footwear.
