This is a great casual wedge. Eric Michael makes fabulous boots, so trying his sandals for the first time this season was a good decision. These worked for regular and wider width feet. The straps are lovely and hold the foot in place. The foot bed isn’t as soft as I would like because it’s an espadrille, but not bad at all. Available in four colours and the gold gets my top vote.

Franco Sarto Creed Espadrille Sandal
Børn ‘Gidgette’ Sandal
Stuart Weitzman Holdup Thong Sandal
From a comfort perspective, these are the only thong sandals that have come close to satisfying my fussy feet. Ever. I normally can’t tolerate the thong bit between my toes, but leave it to Stuart Weitzman to come up with a pair that I’d consider wearing. Pricy, but beautiful and beautifully made.
As I write this, Nordstrom has this item on sale for $98.90. The white is not available online, but I’ve seen it available in stores.
Clarks Wellfleet Tbar Sandal
Here’s an 8-hour wedged sandal with sublime foot bed and soft strap comfort. It’s casually bohemian and feather light. Perfect for hot days with just about any sort of casual outfit. It comes in five colours and they’re all quite sweet, but the red is may favourite followed by black and tan. Treat those fussy feet!
Børn ‘Marguerite’ Sandal
This sandal looks prettier on the foot. It’s quite comfortable and works particularly well with little Summer dresses and skirts. It’s not a good match for wider feet, but runs true to size for regular width feet. All the colours are nice, but silver gets my vote just because it’s light and the most Summer-y looking.
They are on sale as I write this for $59.90.
Kork-Ease Ava Cork Platform Sandal
Sam Edelman Gigi Thong Sandal
Naya Eastlake Thong Sandal
The brand “Naya” is both eco-friendly and comfortable. Soft leather and a very cushioning foot bed. These thong sandals are dressier than flip flops but ever so casual. Great for a wider foot and high instep. Paint those pretty toes and wear them with everything from skirts, dresses and walk shorts, to clamdiggers, harem pants and cargos. They come in an assortment of colours all of which are equally pretty so pick the one that suits your fashion persona.
Seychelles Lauren Sandal
Fab shoe candy! I would buy a dress and make sure I sit all night just to wear these pretty shoes. Alas, they are too high and the peep-toe thing is tortuous for my toes. But if your feet can take a bit of heel height and your skin isn’t blister prone like mine, you have to try these shoes. The leather is relatively soft and stretchable which is a plus. The high vamp on this style is not flop proof though as it can shorten the leg line, but you’ll never know until you try. Of the two colourways, I vote cream and blush pink all the way.
