YLF inspired outfit - does it work on me?

I was suppose to get rid of this bomber denim jacket (I guess they don't usually work on pear shapes), but I wanted to try it out with this outfit before giving it away. I have had it for a long time too, so it is hard to get rid off.

*Does the microcheck pants with the jacket work together?

*and, what do you think of the fit of the pants?

I just got them and those pesky whiskers are there! I can't seem to find pants that don't have any...

Great little outfit you have there! I actually really like the pants on you. Yes, they have whiskers, but they are not that bad. Since I also struggle with whiskers a lot, I have decided to live with them. I am dividing them into acceptable and non-acceptable category, and yours more more than acceptable.

The jacket, I am not a fan. I think that the wash is bothering me more than the cut. But it's a great idea with the pants, and I'd look for a dark more fitted version to go with them.

I really like the pants on you! Are those the gap ones? I'm not sure about the jacket, I think it's too faded out and doesn't look quite right with the pants. Overall, it will be a great look.

I find that I get either whiskers or an elephant rear in pants, so I prefer whiskers.
That being said, I think the pants look GREAT on you! I also love your bag.
And unfortunately I agree with Tanya regarding the jacket.
Express has a cute denim jacket and some fun bomber style jackets if you have time to take a look.

Yeap, whiskers and me are destined to be friends. I have accepted them too, Sarbear and Tanya. I would be pantless if I didn't have a little.

JuliJuli, this are indeed the Gap microchecked pants. It seems like they didn't work for many here, but I guess I'm shaped weird or something because I did think they fit me nicely. They are comfy too and I have noticed that the whiskers seem to become smaller as I wear the pants more....maybe because the pants have stretched a tiny bit.

Kellygirl, I am curious about the motojacket you got... care to share pics or links?

I am glad that the pants fit me because that is the only new purchase in this outfit, but the denim jacket seems like it will have to go!

That makes me sad because I have had it for 6 years!!!!!!! It is still in mint condition too (can you tell I'm a bit attached to it?). Oh well, we had some good times jacket...possibly not fashionable times...but still good regardless.

Share your opinion ladies, I still have some hope for that jacket...hehe.

I like the pants, Munequita. They are very flattering--the whiskers aren't that bad. I think some whiskering is unavoidable. I think the whiskering that should always be avoided is intentional whiskerting. When jeans actually have fade lines in that area--as a feature.

I like the overall shape of the jacket--though I wouldn't necessarily call that a bomber style? But what I don't like about it is the elastic detail on the neck and hem. Maybe keep it until you find something nicer?

Love the purple tote though!

Munequita, I may be in the minority here, but I actually think the jacket looks great on you! It's a flattering fit and not everything has to be dark wash. It's a good casual look and I love the contrast with the pearls.

The whiskering isn't a problem, I don't think. I actually tend to like whiskering and it was a long time before I heard it was a "no no" look. I like it because it means hips and I have none.

Looks great! I love the burgundy bag with the outfit too. I don't think the jacket is too bad, but I think you can find something better.

I think the pants are fabulous. I agree with Dani that the jacket works but I think there's something better out there for you. In the meantime, I think you can sport the look without missing a beat.

Great outfit. Pants, bag are wonderful. The jacket looks fine to me - perhaps a little to casual with the pants so try with some others? But overall, it fits you well and I think you can still get use out of it for certain occasions.

What a great morning it is! YAY I get to keep my jacket! I know most of you were not fans but 4 of you voted for it (Angie included) so that is enough reason for me to keep. Like I said before, I have had that denim jacket for 6 years so it was hard for me to get rid of...for some reason. Why is it that we get attached to some items and not others?

Ok, I do promise I will look for an updated denim jacket though! One that I can wear with everything and that everyone will like. I have another one that is boxy and I just noticed that, so that one is goners for sure.

Kellygirl, thank you so much for finding the link to your motojacket. I really like it and I really want to find one like it! I agree that a jacket like that would look great with these pants. I'm petite so it is HARD to find jackets that fit!

Alecia, I'm actually wearing a knit shirt underneath, not a cami. I think I got it in some clothes boutique in Charleston, SC. Sorry I can't be more specific because it is one of those brands that no one knows who they are...:-)
