YLF Challenge Chain: fastkat Challenges Sveta

Dear Sveta,

Each time I open a WIW post of yours I am wowed by your sophisticated and polished style. You have a talent for using your well-edited wardrobe to its fullest potential.

It's warming up in Ontario. For this challenge I want you to kick back, relax, and think of warm breezes and cool summertime treats. It's summertime and the livin' is easy.

Choose three (or more) images below as inspiration to create three (or more) outfits that you can wear this summer.

Have fun and thanks for being such a style inspiration.

I am listening to a cold rain outside and looking at those summery images with longing...where is our summer?! Too bad I cannot wear right away what I come up with due to a weather but I am up to a challenge for sure!

OK - here we go!
This felt like picture challenge - something I am not really very good at as I always go for the most obvious associations like colors and textures, nothing really creative...
Anyway, this time I decided to see which pictures get immediate associations with one of my wardrobe items and go from there.

1-2 Watermelon
I love watermelon - the best summer treat possible and guilt free too! This picture reminded me about my coral lace dress - both in color and the texture - so this is where I started. I think this bright green color is especially striking next to the coral-red but I don't have anything green...no, I have a silk scarf! The shine of the silk also reminded me the gloss of the watermelon skin. And see how the layer of white between green and red in the picture makes them both pop and also work well together? I also added some white to the outfit with the denim jacket and oxfords. I decided to try flat oxfords here even if they are not the most flattering option with the skirt - just for fun!

3-5 Ice cream
Just one look at this picture made me think about my blush khakis from the last season. Pink, fluffy white and textured nude...I already wore this combination last summer ( pic 5) but this time I decided to make it more casual to match the spirit of the summer treats (pic 4). Fluid tee to replace silk sweatshirt, sans jacket and flat sandals instead of pointy toe shoes and here we have a casual version

6-8 Tropical beach
This picture right away reminded me of this dress in a tropical floral print in shades of bright blue and white. Here again we have 2 versions. #7 is a dressier outfit with a blue blazer ( could not resist to mix different shades of blue here like in the sky and water), grey satchel (sand) and bone slingbacks (clouds and sea foam).
Well, because this is tropical it means laid back beach time so here is a more casual version with a white denim jacket, grey flats and silver crossbody (sand again).

Whew, I think I am done here and I hope I did not fail this challenge

These are all fantastic imo. The ice cream colours & the blues are perfect on you. Hope you get an opportunity to wear them soon. You make it very difficult to pick favourites but I'm going with #5 & #7

Fantastic! I love your summer-inspired outfits. My favs are #3-5, the outfits inspired by the ice cream cones. But then, ice cream is my favorite, so I might have been influenced by the thought of that tasty treat

Amazing how the repeating whites in the watermelon outfit really pull things together! I have such trouble pairing two colors because it always looks random to me, but I'm going to remember this tip for making it work.

And now FK, you get to flop down on a beach towel and rest, while Sveta completes this link in the chain. And Sveta, your challengee is #46, our own caro in oz! (Interesting, this will be one of those cross-seasonal challenges, since caro is currently preparing for winter...)
