In the week which started with the 7th anniversary of surprise finding out there would be a little person joining us in a few months, we said our third good bye in three years to an important set of people and environments which all have their share in shaping him to who and what he is now.
And because on the exact same day of this month's cover his outfit had coincided with Angie's (ok, ok, mainly hacked jeans and striped top) I though I'll do a post about my boy and his kindergarden "style". (You can see the old copycat here :-D)
You see, while I kept it washing friendly (sand, mud, paint and food stains) and practical (he needs socks to prevent ticks and insects bites as they were spending a lot of time outside), he added his own touch a few months back by his mismatched socks. "So, where did you see this idea?", I asked him. "Nowhere, just in my head".
:: Photo 1 - WHW = What He Wore on Thursday. The shorts were a nice pair of grey jeans a few months ago. Then I noticed thinned fabric on the knees, which soon called for a patch on the left leg. I sew one patch on. The other jeans followed, btw, all with the holes at the same spot. When the hole appeared on the other leg of the grey jeans I gave up.
Come summer, I hacked the jeans as we need endless supply of longer length shorts to avoid scraped knees. I was rolling them up to begin with, but somewhere along the line these just became his nod to RATE vibe IYKWIM
Btw, I did not plan the matchy-matchy action between the patch and the stripes, it just happened (i.e. lately he grows out of stuff way too fast and the shirt was on sale), but I admit my affection for blue+green is greatly indulged here.
:: Photo 2 - More kindergarden style.
:: Photo 3 - Those socks.
:: Photo 4 - Last day L->R. I have a photo of when these shelves and hangers were full of children's stuff, now they are empty for the summer - His old spot, in the middle, is awaiting another child - One last story in the kindergarden hallway before we head home.
:: Photo 5 - Biking home today. Bye Bye our wonderful German kindergarden.
:: Photo 6 - The aloe vera plant on the left moved with us last year. I love aloe vera for so many reasons and I've had them ever since I was pregnant. Whenever we have shoots, my son and I plant them to their pots and give away. This plant took a while to settle in after the move, but then we had a lot of baby plants from her. So, last week we replanted all the big shoots to their pots and this week gifted them to all the nice the ladies in the kindergarten who helped my baby to settle in.
:: Photo 7 - WIW to pick him up today. I wanted to wear this blue top for him as he loves blue, the rest is another set of items to play with the Tin Tin colour scheme.
Am I emotional? Just a little... thanks for reading.
